Think im gonna suck it and see for now. Youre right Neil, black is the most thermally efficient, however looking at the size of it. I dont think im gonna have any cooling issues some how lol.
Can always whip it off and paint it later if i dont like it.

Plumbing in tonight hopefully.
Still undecided if August will be 2ltr or 2.5.
Either way, we'll have a great laugh as usual Fozzie

Been a busy boy tonight and plumbed in the cooler and fitted a new 70mm APS cold air intake.
Just a few relocations left to do, refit my ACT sensor and my Clifford siren needs a new home.
Need to make a black for the DV take off too.
Sorry for the crap phone pics but at least you can see my progress.

Car will be mapped again anyway as my MAF scaling will now be out due to an intake change,
I fitted a new APS 70mm intake tonight too. Smaller than my current one but allows me to fit the cooler.

Looks good Frayz
Out of interest, could you let me know the average air charge temp is please?
The reason I ask is so that it can be used as a reference point as to how efficient/ineffiecient the Autobahn 88 FMIC's actually are.
I plan to put an ACT in my scoob soon, so the results could be interesting.

Yeah Fozz, the pipes fit perfectly. Almost factory finish!

georgem knows of a place that's fairly cheap for ceramic coating. will save changing the wrap every year.

oooh polished stainless. no chipping of the chrome plating as per some other pipework sets in fmic. so how comes painting the ic black will help heat and painting the pipes black won't

The black works better on the cooler as it absorbs more of the heated charge within it. Thus more heat is disipated to the cooling fins which in turn is transfered to the passing air.
Same thing happens in the engine bay only this time the black pipes are absorbing radiated heat. So better to have reflective pipes than black.
I hope that makes sense

My ACT sensor was tapped into my old cooler.. i needed to tap the cold side of my pipework.
So i made a stainless boss and tig welded it on to house the sensor. This in about 1" before the throttle body on the underside of the pipework, shame you wont see it really as i think it looks pretty sweet

got some pukka new kit though that will aid in the wet look without the need for polishing

are you going to spill the beans or do we have to wait and see?
