Lakeside only have an individual race option available at 4.30pm on the 12th.

They can do either a team enduro or individual event the week after on the 19th.

For a 1 hour enduro we need 15 teams 30 drivers at £99 per team

We can run 20 drivers as individuals at £62 each, 5 min practice and 30 min race.

or

We can go to Brentwood on the 12th July at 6.30pm, 1 hour enduro £72 per team. (these are single engine karts)
Brentwood Go Karting|Go Kart Racing| essex | chelmsford| arrive and drive

i have provisionally booked BOTH dates, but they will only hold these for us for a few days.

Please post up which would be your preference.

Not been to Brentwood, but the circuit looks good, though they are single engine karts, but think it may be good to keep to the original date?

Ed, Again hope you don't mind me butting in on your event, just trying to be helpfull.
YVM ...

Well done for making the call mate , Im sure that Ed will not mind during these busy times for him .

I Personnally thought the date ( Thursday 12th July ) Was booked & we just needed to comfirm with Lakeside karting & pay the deposits to secure the evenings racing

It seems that this is not the case

I Do not think the 19th is any good & i feel that we will not get 30 Drivers reqd

The 30 min race @ £62 Seems a little expensive to me

So Brentwood is the option .. I Feel that 6.30pm Is a little to early & with me @ 24+ Stone im not getting in a single engine kart so im afraid that's me out of the equation (sp) lol

What i suggest is ...

Knock it on the head , Someone call Lakeside & comfirm a date first ( Poss the Aug HWH Meet date 9th Aug ) Or perhaps a Sat/ Sun event there & go from there

Just my thoughts guys that's all

Must admit that im a little dissapointed as i really thought that this was going to happen

Tiny,

I agree, Ed keeps deposits (subject to people being able to do the August one). and take it from there .

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make the August though , as it is Donna's birthday, and I did promise I would take her out somewhere (and not to a meet ) ....... It will be the 2nd HWH meet I have missed in about 6 years .

Sorry to pish on your strawberries guys, I do feel resposible for this but I want to explain my actions.

Although there was sufficient interest in the original thread, some people were a tad slow in coming forward with a deposit. There had been at least 2 months notice but it only seems that this has gathered steam in the last couple of weeks. As Nate knows, at the beginning of last week I was going to cancel this altogether due to lack of numbers.

I wasn't going to do a down payment with Lakeside until we had enough people who had committed financially, otherwise those who had paid at the H/H could have been £20 down had the evening not gone ahead.

I don't mind holding on to the deposit (it is in a safe place and I'm sure most of you trust me ). Rather then holding this in August, when most people are going to be away, what about September when the evenings are still mild and light?

Your thoughts please.

And so you should , Fancy planning an event & not even contacting where we are going to make a booking

Joking aside biggboy i know exactly where you are coming from Hence why i stopped organising karting evenings 2 years ago & let you have a go ( Never again !! ) At least i used to ring them & make a provisional booking

Im with you & perhaps give the Aug date a miss ( Peeps on holiday & Still now LK May not be able to fit us in in time , They get booked a long way in advance for events )

So the Sept date is looking fave That will be the 13th

Best call them & make a Provisional booking

I Still have 7 deposits (£140) Here which i can either return or hold on to ?

Big Boy,

Thanks for your understanding Yes, I have been a bit of a pillock but I don't see anyone else stepping up and organising stuff (Except for you!!)

Please can you hold onto the deposit. Obviously if the someone isn't able to make the 13th September then you can return it to them. Likewise I'll hold onto monies given to me at last months H/H and will return it if necessary

Thanks to YVM for picking up the baton

Hi all,

I'm sure you've been following this thread, but the karting has now been cancelled.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the good news it has been re-schedueled to the 13th September.

Therefore, there will now be a H/H meet

Big Boy, can you lock this now. Ta

Ed,

Would it be an idea to start a fresh thread, with peoples names down, giving the option for a return of deposit ...... If they want it back.

Keep mine, I am up for September ..... Just couldn't make the August, and I am sure you can keep the deposits of all others affiliated with me
