Also interested for my Spec C

Not sure if it has to be APS for the GB ? I've been impressed with results lately with the Perrin FMIC that some of the guys up here have been importing from the USA.

It is rated up to 1000bhp (american bhp )

It does look good in the 'signature' range

Perrin Performance - Front Mount Intercooler (SS)

I've seen them around $1200 US but if someone was arranging a GB (not me - lol) then they may be able to improve on this.
Perrin also do a matching cold air inlet to fit with the intercooler.

If you have already decided on the APS then let me know and I'll edit this post

Andy

Worth looking at both Andy...

Looks like the numbers are coming up now though.

I read in another thread that you had extracted 470bhp from your Spec C running the STi topmount.

Can you give me a brief spec as im very interested in this.

Andy - Perrin was on my list, it looks a fabulous piece of kit but havent seen any results from it - care to share your experiences? I particularly like the way the hoses from the FMIC are connected at the top of the unit but unsure as to whether the pipe runs would work with my CAI.

Not sure on pricing for it though, I shipment of these is definitely going to attract substantial import taxes that can add a huge amount to the cost with a substantial figure for shipping too.

I will investigate further though and contact Perrin in the states as the exchange rate is pretty favourable at the mo.

APS would be uk supplied and therefore shipping would be low and no import taxes - may well work out cheaper.

The exchange rates are very good at the mo, it would work out at just over 600 quid, which is very good.

Was reading about these on the NASIOC the other day and had a good write up.

Depending on the part description, either 21 or 22%.
Subject to who the carrier is and your previous import history, you may have to pay this cash on delivery, cheque with guarantee card etc this is usually the case with UPS for instance or you may get an invoice 3-6 weeks later. This is what happens when I use DHL.

Hi Frayz

Yes it was always just going to be a 400bhp daily driver but I guess even I never learn to leave it alone

Sti topmount is getting near its limit at 470bhp, just shows how much reserve it has on a mid 300's car though
The fact that the Type 25 retains the TMIC at 415bhp on a fully warrantied car suggests there is no safety risk even at this level.

I run an MD321T turbo, Gruppe S headers, std OE uppipe to maximise spool up, 650cc injectors, Ebay special cold air intake, 2.5" H+S exhaust (the original scoobysport system) It has an EJ257 short motor fitted with Wiseco 'drop in' pistons, std block, rods, bearings and crank.

The current turbo is rated to 480bhp so I will be stepping up to something a wee bit bigger to load up the FMIC

Anyone got an idea on how much weight a DR525 will add to the front end of the car? I've read in one thread of someone who has used one that it added 20kgs to his front end.

I'm changing my IC very soon and was going to go with the Hyperflow TMIC but I really like the stealth look of the APS and it is beginning to sway my choice slightly in going down FMIC route.
