Thanks

Please dont take this the wrong way but I didnt have a problem with the catch can until I got quicker around the tracks. It never collects anything other than a small amount of condensation on the road drives. On tracks that I dont try that hard on like the nurburgring, it collects very little at all. But on tracks where more corner speed/G is gained then it catches loads.

This may be a newage thing, it may be a 2.5 engine thing, but it def only happens on long high G right hand corners like Coram or Luffield and to a lesser degree Galgenkopf at the ring.

New injectors and mapping tomorrow so will report back once I can either do a delta dash dyno run or get it on some trusted rollers for a reading

I would expect the 2.5 to breathe a lot more than the 2.0 as you say Duncan.
Looks a lovely car 8)

Wrong way not taken

TBH in my car, the corners are the only parts i can go fast, due to being relatively low in power compared to the rest of the field. Although only done about 7 or 8 track days total, and can't remember any long corners TBH.
I suppose booting it mid corner may affect it too.

Today I have changed the cambelt, Cambelt Tensioner and the offending knocking item - the Idler ... the litte geet Loads of play in the roller bearing, really suprised it wasnt noisey all the time to be honest.

A little bit of play in the Tensioner bearing but nothing too great but changed that to be sure.

Thanks Steven (P20SPD) for your help in diagnosis

It seems I was living on borrowed time so mightily relieved that it is gone

car is now prepped and ready and had a chance to get out today and despite the car frightening me with a CEL from a faulty Knock Sensor, all is now ready and the mild panic over. Thanks Ren for your help

Now to go and wrap it in cotton-wool
