ahh yes, i read the achievements list and you only get the extra points if you play on the hardest difficulty (which i wont be) so i dropped it back down to easy and flew past the troublesome part

Shortest game ever? just finished it.

finished after about 12 hours but only managed 30 of the 50 achievements in the first run and there are 122 of the tapes to collect and i got nowhere near that many.

 

might just wizz through, finish it and trade it in while its still worth about £30 to the games shop!

i hate having to look about for things, 122 tapes sounds like murder

 

Reading about other people finishing it really quickly too!

i think i have just killed the second big daddy on arcadia and some tree woman wants to be my friend (she is bound to be mad and try and kill me at some point)

this games is horrendous! Its absoloutely sick. I dont like it and wont buy it!

 

It's not as sick as some of the stuff I've seen in other games (Gears of War for example). In fact, if you follow the storyline, it's not really sick at all...

 

Apart from genetic manipulation of little girls with sea slugs so they can suck Adam (oo-er) from dead people .
Still is a bloody great game i've thoroughly enjoyed it

 

So is it actually worth £40 ? its a 10-12 hr game with no online play, i spent 94ish hours completing Oblivion.

Its a genuine question btw, i've not played bio yet

 

Compared to Oblivion then no (i spent nearly 120 hours trying to everything on it )
I paid £30 for it but i would still say no (you have to play it twice to get both endings though) there will be content download but i have no idea what that would be (extra missions perhaps).

 

You'd really have to be going some to do it in 10 hours, my first run was at least 20, although I did get hopelessly lost at one point!

Playing on hard is supposed to be better, you're forced to scavenge for items that you can use as ammo, I'd guess anyone who's done it in 8 had it on "I'm a wimp just gimme the gamerpoints" mode and was running through with a grenade launcher...

 

At the same point your longer 20 was partly because of you getting the 900points in one hit.

 

I suppose. It is done very tastefully though, and is nowhere near as bad as stuff I've seen in other games

 

In total I spent longer than that - 20 (roughly) was how long it took me to get to the last boss, when I kept getting beat (before I figured out what to do) I went back for the diaries & tonics I'd missed.

 

So can you free roam the entire game once you've killed everyone without them respawning ?

 

No, you can keep going back and forward throughout the levels (apart from the start) and enemies will always appear, although not as many as the first time. When you've beaten the last boss - that's it, you can't go back so if there's anything you've missed make sure you get it first.

It's longer than other fps games I've played though, and the story is a lot better...

 

Although I've finished it, I had the whole of friday off and was on it until about 3 on sat morning, then on again for about 5 hours a night since then...

Its definately bigger than Gears.

 

Gears of War was short and look how everyone raved about that (personally it bored me to tears).

 

Gears was ok just incredibly short, and tedious having to complete it again just to get the co-op points.

 

Gears was good while it lasted, but it made a better co-op game than a single player. If rumours are to be beleived it was so short because they couldn't fit anything else onto a DVD.

 

I'd say that was more of an excuse, chances are any extra levels they'd include would use the same textures/sounds as the rest of the game and the actual 3d level layout files would be reasonably small.

Maybe they just didnt have the time to delay the release and will release it as dlc once the pc version is released in November.
