imho.this hothatch should off got a differant name they probably kept the name thinking that it will be worth a few more sales that way.
they are obviously out of the performance saloon market.maybe they find it a better chassi / more competative against the rest in WRC??

According to guy at Prodrive on the tour Last monday... the new STi will have 4 rear pipes... Can't see on that pic cos my work monitor is cack!
The rear cat is so big it takes up most of the rear underneath apparently, so thay have had some scope to play.... we'll see!!

This pic is from the STi website in Japan :
And I'm still not convinced about the hatch shape (even though I drive a wagon !!)
New Evo looks really good though I can see the 'poor Aston' comment the more I look at it.
If the saloon version posted previously loses the tacky plasticky front grill it might not be the complete styling disaster everyone's expecting.

A simple solution here would have been to rename the new car something other than an impreza just like Ford did with the Escort to Focus, that leaves the impreza as a performance saloon and not a hot hatch.
I don`t like it btw, their are far to many cars that look like this on the market already and it looks like a cheap Huyundai with a bonnet scoop.
