They've gotta keep the Impreza as a saloon surely!! They can't just stop it now! I think I am the only one that thinks this.....but I think the new evo is bloody disgusting!!! It's like they've got a half decent car.....then completely buggered up the front end. I mean what the hell is it meant to look like!? I've always thought the opposite about the new imprezas......they've got a nice looking car, but buggered up the back. But only when looking from the side. Lol. I know what I mean. When ur looking directly from the back of the car, they look okay......but when you see the back of the side.....I dunno....just looks stuck on & wrong. I need to go & work for subaru and get em back on track and design a decent one lol.

I so want to be wrong guys but I am 99% certain the stunning 'GRID' sti pictured above is a photochop job, which sucks as it looks bloody amazing imo.

You are correct, the "GRID" car is not the new STI, it is a 3D rendered model unfortunately, a figment of the guy's imagination. Find more of his work here: GRIDs site

The "2008 Impreza STi - for real" isn't a "real" picture either IMHO

Sucks doesn't it? . On his site you can see why all the copies of his images are darkened as his pics subtly show that the pics aren't real. Subaru would sell them by the shipload if they looked that good!

Yup, those were some of the earliest "pictures" that started doing the rounds months before Subaru officially announced the hatchback... although it doesn't look far off I bet.

Unhappy YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKK

Having previously owned a MY98UK TURBO,2000 MY VER6 TYPE R,98 22B STI,MY03 WRX PPP,I can honestly say that the new model is an abomination. They lost loads of sales when the bugeye came out now they will replace this in six months or go down the bog.SUBARU youve lost it.Friend of mine says sales in japan are not good people walking out of the dealers as soon as thay see it!!!!.I have since moved on from subaru ownership sick of the bottomless pit they can become so bought a boat instead loadsa fun.IMHO of course.Stan Palmers in Carlisle have a MY2008 for viewing this saturday i won't be bothering

Really don't like the look of the '08 impreza in hatch form, they've ruined the look of the impreza.
Although i do quite like this:

I think with a few choice mods it could look great

Interesting wheels back to 100PCD and 5 Speed box.

I agree with the 5 speed box with a UK 7krpTorquier 2.5 motor but Disagree with a JDM 2.0 8Krpm shoud have 6peed

I did hear some time ago that no room for the "Old" 6 speed box on the new Car. This was the only real major issue with converting "Old" 2007 WRC car parts for the 2008 WRC

Awful looking? It's under disguise tape, how can you tell?!

The link to the STI site above looks as though it's just pointing to some STI accessories for the WRX - it's not a link to the actual STI version of the car.

Still looks like a Rover 25 to me. Although I'm interested to see if it will be lighter than the outgoing model as it appears smaller.

Well I saw a standard one for real in the showroom today and it really is one ugly car! It's so bland and non-descript that I walked past it at first without even noticing. God only knows what the hell Subaru's design department are on to come up with that but it did remind me of the b*****d love child of a Mazda 3 and some old Proton!

It's not though. I checked the dimensions and it's actually bigger!
