Limited to 7000 rpm but on the fastest section was hitting 125mph in fourth.

Unfortunately due to police crackdown on race cars and booking rally cars while in the Cyprus Rally a few weeks ago, I never got the chance to run the car on the road for fear of it being confiscated.

Unfortunatey being the second time driving with the PPG dog engagement set I just did not get the hang of it and on the three second to third changes kept on getting it wrong and losing a heap of time. Need to somehow find some practice time on the road , as it is difficult to learn to drive on a new circuit with new suspension and difficult box.

On my second run around a bend, got a nice splash of oil on the windscreen an the car understeered badly. Got to the top and saw red oil under the bonnet. The AST remote canister had burst a rubber o-ring!! It is being shipped off to them tomorrow. Packed up in disgust and left.

Nothing going right at the moment.

Dont know what times I did, quite bad I imagine but with some good stretches where I was able to use the power quite nicely.
Chin up mate, thats motorsport and I know where your coming from, makes you want to quit sometimes. But then you will have a blinder and it's all worth it!

It will come together.

Rob.

Thanks for the comments. It is a lot of work and money for little return and really frustrating as I believe I have a car that can run close with the frontrunners. The suspension issue was the icing on the cake as I had a chance to do another run and get in some practice. I suppose not as bad as some others -the red Lancia Integrale damaged his engine the night before while out illegally testing on the roads and was a no show and various others again had excurions into the barriers.

Speaking with Paul @ ZEN on some mods and a proper rebuild of the box as it should not be that hard to use. Never had any trouble with my old Challak gearset many years ago and I used it as a daily driver for many years.

I go to Cyprus/Paphos every year(just got back last week),Hopefully I'll be there at Christmas, would love to have a look in your garage(without sounding cheaky) Alan told me to keep an eye out for his old bugeye while i was out there, but didn't see it,,,,,,,you've got a great car there
Let me know when you are around and I can pop over to Paphos. Any excuse to take it for a blast is welcomed. It is currently doing the daily grind of ferrying kids to school and home and me to work.
