I'd be interested in a set of Rota GRAs (I think "Tarmac II" is the Innovit brand name). Price for a set on the Rare Rims website (17" x 7.5, gunmetal, 5x100 ET48) is 449.99 + 29.38 carriage.
What will the GB price be?

I had wondered why there was no mention of Tarmac 2s on the RareRims site - makes sense if they are Inovits. Although the US site calls them Rota Tarmac 2s as well.

If we can get them from the states, great (need to add the cost of wheel nuts & locking nuts). A lot of what we're after are not in stock, but the prices are good, so we could probably all find something we like. BUT - I don't think they'll ship to the UK, let alone free shipping. Try buying a set, and when it asks for your address, the US is the only country option.

So for Rota Tarmac 2s, it's £364.30, plus lets say £50 for shipping (I think that would be a good deal) + VAT = £486
note - their free shipping doesn't include Alaska or Hawaii

Then you may have to pay a company this end for dealing with the import and paying the VAT for you (that's what I've had to do on my last two large imports), and then you've got to buy some wheel nuts.

On the last group buy from RareRims, the price for 18" wheels was £380, + £20 p&p, including wheel nuts, and from looking at the last group buy threads, good service. They'll also put your tyres on, and obviously look after your wheels when doing it.

This group buy is not mine, and if anyone has a better deal, I welcome it, so I am not against this idea on principle, but I don't think this option is suitable - let me know if I've got my sums wrong.

Ok chaps, it's good and bad news I'm afraid.
The good news is that RareRims will match the price of last year and the years before, which I think is very good.
The bad news is the limit number of wheels they can offer us (No Tarmac 2/GRA)

The prices:
17" wheels - £350
17" wheels & Toyo TR1s - £640

18" wheels - £380
18" wheels & Toyo TR1s - £760 (Yoko PS2 £740)

P&P £20 wheels only, £30 wheels & tyres.
Wheel nuts (inc locking) included (not sure if that's only with wheel & tyre package, or also wheels only)

It doesn't make sense for RareRims to complicate the offer with too much Tyre choice, so they're just offering Toyos (and Yoko in 18"), which seems fair enough (sorry if you'd only accept Goodyears).
The disappointing news is the limit of stock. They don't have many GRAs, and they are selling too well at full price for them to be included in the offer.

Of our list below, only 3 people can have their first choice
GAWLEY, SirFozzalot & JanesF
8 of us want GRAs or SDRs (SDRs are out of stock, group buy or no group buy)
The P1s are a lot more expensive than all the other wheels - I haven't asked, as it's only RS Grant after them, but I assume we'd struggle to include them.

Here is our current list: (I've changed Tarmac 2 to GRA, as Tarmac 2 is the Inovit brand name)

1. Trig - SDR, Steel Grey, 17", Toyo T1S 215/40/17
2. ethanrob - GRA, Anthracite, yoko parada tyres 225/40/18 PCD 5x114 for new spec sti
3. GAWLEY - Subzero, silver with polished rims, 17", no tyres
4. staffi - GRA, gun metal, 17", Goodyear Eagles
5. Wmscooby - GRA gold or Anthracite, 18", Toyo TIR 225/40/18
6. Stiver3 - Grid, Gold with Polished Lip, 16" Toya T1R 205/45/16
7. sjwent - SDR, Anthracite, 17" - Toyo T1R's
8. assti - GRA, Anthracite, 18", Toyos
9. SirFozzalot - Formula Mesh, 18" - colour tbc, wheels only, or poss Goodyear Eagle F1's
10. RS Grant - P1's, Bronze, 18", Eagle F1/Toyo - 225/40/18
11. scoobasteve - GRA, Anthracite,18'', Eagle F1 225/40/15
12. PaulC555 - GRA, Steel Grey, 18" - 225/40/18 (Kumho, Falken, Yoko)
13. JamesF - Formula Mesh, Silver in 18" with 225/40X18 Toyo T1R's please

We are trying to come up with wheels that you guys would like, but there's nothing that looks like GRAs (except the Force, 17" in white)
Force - unfortunately only available in 17", white
Torque - 17" silver
Formula Mesh - 18" gold or silver
Subzero - 17" & 18" Silver with polished Lip

If you like any of those options, please update the thread. Otherwise I'm struggling, but I will keep trying.

If the options above are no good for you, try holding off on buying anything else a little longer, in case we can sort anything out (but GRAs at those prices won't happen).

How do you go about ordering these wheels then ?

I phoned to place an order but the person at the other end said he was waiting for 10 orders to be placed before offering the discount.

Please update your orders soon folks so we can get our new shoes on the cars asap !

James.

8. PaulC555 - GRA, Steel Grey, 18" - 225/40/18 Yoko

Ok, some good news
Without GRAs in the deal, it looked like the deal would be off, so I've negotiated a small discount on the GRAs (£40 off 18", £30 off 17", + p&p discount, + tyre discount. Which gives us:

GRA prices:
17" wheels - £420
17" wheels & Toyo TR1s - £710

18" wheels - £475
18" wheels & Toyo TR1s - £855 (Yoko PS2 £835)

+ p&p (£20 wheels, £30 wheels and alloys)

Please do not try and place your order direct. I have agreed with RareRims that we will organise what we want here, and I will give them the list. When it comes to payment, you will then contact RareRims direct - but please bare in mind that they have no problem selling the GRAs at full price, and they are giving us £40/£50 discount (with p&p taken into account), and for RareRims, time is money, so they do not want to spend the day fielding our questions, and waiting to see if their are 10 of us.

Colours etc to follow:

Now we shouldn't run out of wheels, although there are only a couple of the odd wheel/colour, so:
I am going to deal with this on a first come, first served bases, on this thread only! If you post saying that you want a particular wheel, do not edit that post, as only non edited post can easily verified as first.

Wheels available:
17" (£350 wheels, £640 inc Toyos)
Force - white only (17x8" 5x100)
Torque - silver
Subzero - Silver with polished Lip (17x7.5" 5x100)

18" (£380 wheels, £760 inc Toyos)
Formula Mesh - Gold or Silver (18x8" 5x100)
Subzero - Plain Silver (18x7.5" 5x100)

17" GRAs (£420 wheels, £710 inc Toyos)
Gunmetal Polished Face
Gold
Steel Grey (=their Anthracite)
White
Flat Black
Gunmetal

18" GRAs (£475 wheels, £855 inc Toyos)
Gunmetal Polished Face - 2 only
Gold
Silver
Steel Grey (=their Anthracite)

Er, how did you get to those? Once we've got a list of definites (now that we have wheel & tyre choices, with prices available), if you really want the SDXs, not GRAs, I'll see if they can do those at the deal price.

Please put me down for a set of 17" GRAs in "steel grey" with 215/40/17 Toyo T1Rs.
All inclusive total 740 quid, right?
When will we know about availability?
Thanks for organising it all!

Trig, i `ve found out that the SDX don`t come for the classic shape, so i`m in for 17`s GRA`S in Gunmetal with Toyo`s and nuts etc......

Ok, this is the list of CONFIRMED orders.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL RareRims about this offer until they are ready for payment, or if I can't answer your questions (this is just to save them spending hours dealing with this, when they are making a lot less than they could).

Prices are all in, with delivery - please check the price, and tell me if I've under-quoted you (as well as if I've over-quoted you), since I've got nothing to do with RareRims, so under-quotes will not stand.

1. Trig - 17" GRA, Gunmetal polished face, Toyo T1Rs 215/40/17 = £740
2. Mike Molloy - 17" GRA, Steel grey, Toyo T1Rs 215/40/17 = £740
3. staffi - 17" GRA, Gunmetal, Toyo T1Rs 215/40/17 = £740
4. PaulC555 18", GRA, Steel Grey = £495
5. JamesF. 18" Formula Mesh, Silver, no tyres = £400

Most people on the list can have pretty much what they wanted - it's more expensive for GRAs than the other choices, but they are available.

Grant - if you can wait a day, I can probably still get you a discount for joining us, but if you want to order on your own, that's cool.

Stiver3, if you want some 16" wheels, please find something that fits the scoob, and I'll try and get you a discount once we have a full group.
