In all honesty, UB, there's a lot of bollox talked about art, isn't there? If I need to remove a large chunk of oak from a sculpture, I don't need to use a 300-year-old Japanese gouge forged by the finest of Samurai swordmakers, do I?
I could just as well use a fecking chainsaw or a Rolson Fire Axe. The piece of art is being created by a human being with artistic talent at the end of the day. The person who needs the finest of equipment to do a job is wasting everyone's time.

I did try to mention that digital sculpture is more rewarding than bashing away at a piece of timber somewhere toward the start of this post. Still, you carry on...

No, all I'm saying is, I spent £7.99 today on three gouges that will do the job of roughing out the sculpture; I didn't require a Lignum-Vitae mallet, nor did I have some bell-end from St. Martin's College standing over me, ball-aching about the vacuousness of figurative artw*rks.
And a digital sculpture is NOT more rewarding, BTW. Especially if the dental symmetry is all to ****.

UB , not saying your digital renderings aren't earstwhile, but there something strangely satifying in taking what amounts to a 'chunk of fekkall' toiling with good honest sweat and graft and 'creating ' something worth seeing /using as a doorstop ,candle -holder ashtray, what-have-you... now Im sure Bubba will have a set of Falsies ready to affix to the monster's skull once carved from the once mighty block of Oak..
*are you still doing a Trilobite too, Bubba ?
