So is it steam or smoke?
Like it says above steam is all good It should do that as the hot gasses from the exhaust meet the cold air outside.
Smoke however is not good at all.

yes but does the smoke go away when your driving or does it get worse or if you are on boost it will smoke really bad if it does any of the above your turbo is nackered. go for a drive and keep an eye on it see what it is doing also check your coolant level as it will be low. try it and you can pretty much narrow it down but from what you say it does sound like turbo cheers

if its white smoke due to the turbo you would know about it mate, take it for a drive, let it warm up and floor it...if you can still see the road behind you i would say your turbo should be fine..when a turbo lets go the amount of smoke it chucks out is alot more than what it seems your saying yours is. mine seems like it smokes alot sometimes but as already said its prob just steam and nothing to worry about. only other thing could be head gasket, check your dip stick see if there are any signs of water and check your water, is it loosing water?? maybe your just a victim of owning a scooby..dont we all get paranoid about nothing at times?

if it is only when idling then its a good chance your lambada sensor has gone. I am just having the same problem with mine (only noticed as failed emissions test) but then even when fully warmed I am getting the same problems. Have a new lambada which I am fitting tonight so will let you know.

I have the same problem

Basically even when the car is warm I can sit at the traffic lights and look in my rearview mirror only to see a fog bank. Setting off produces more white smoke then nothing. Also under full boost it's clear as a bell.

I must say that it does smoke straight away but after 20 - 45 seconds.

Also when it's hot after a blast it seems ok too.

I had it looked at and the dealer said that there's nowt wrong though the lamaba seems to be a good bet. They also said that the turbo was fine.

Demonsurfer have you changed your lamaba or just cleaned the breather pipes.
