Capri's...... 2.8TT

Yep another ex capri and ex scooby owner here who has enjoyed looking at all the capri "****" in this thread.
I still dream of my last capri - rosso red 2.8i. If only I could find another like it. I always wanted a late original mark 3 3.0S x pack. Had the opportunity to buy one once that had been stored for 15 years for a bargain but let it slip through my hands.

Still have a MK1 tucked away.
Liked the shape so much I re-created it digitally in 3D to the specs I would love to re-build her to. RS3100 spec, complete with Cosworth GAA V6 Quadcam and 20" BBS rims. Absolute fantasy, but whiles away the hours

I don't know alot about Capris but family friends has one and they don't want it anymore.
Its a 3L Black 1976 Capri. It only has 27K on the clock.
The problem is that its in my mothers garage - in Spain.
It was driven there about 15 years ago and has sat in various peoples garages ever since. She (its hers really) has owned the car more or less since new.
I'm supposed to be going out there during the easter half term to help my mother move in and see if this car is worth bringing back.
Anyone got any ideas if this car is worth anything? Its not mint but the mileage is very geniune and has spent at least half its life garaged in Spain.

Does anyone know if the above car sounds like its worth a bob or not?

you may like this one then
The year is 1981
I am working for a photographer and we have finished a shoot in London, coming back up the M1 at around midnight in his 323i BM (which was a bit special and rare back then)
A Capri comes past us ( we are doing around a ton or so) like we are standing still.
No ordinary Capri - apparently an RS3.1 Cologne Capri - looked like an on the road race car wide wheel arch modelwith a 3.0CSL BM glued to is bumper. Now, these are two of my favourite cars anyway!
We take off after the pair of them but even at an indicated 130MPH we are not catching, actually being left behind and some. We lose sight of them!
Some 20 or so miles further up the M1 we come across the CSL with the bonnet up old a mixture of oil and coolant leaking out of the engine, we pulled over to offer assistance. It turns out BM had been chasing/racing the Capri through Swiss Cottage out to the M1 and has been pretty much flat-out/off the clock since they got on there. In the end the BM engine just gave up the ghost and the Capri carried on into the night.

First ever car was a highland green 1.6GL....great car 'til I wrote it off by running into the back of a poor woman in her brand new Gold convertable
Replaced the first car with a Gold 2.0GL - brown vinyl roof. Car ran really well (120k on the clock) then I decided to trade for a 2.8i.
Had the 2.8i resprayed and then the engine rebuilt at the capri garage in blackpool (along with new gearbox & clutch fitting). Cost decent money for what I was earning at the time but I loved the car. One of the few cars that I have had that I actually was gutted to change and for a long time afterwards I regretted the change despite 'trading up' to much newer modern car.
Happy days & great memories.

Just found this thread, what memories came flooding back.
MY first car at 17 was a Capri 2.0L Laser
Had that for two years and got a 1983 2.8i
Then a year later I bought myself a mint white 2.8i Special.
I had it for five years one of the nicest cars I have ever owned.
Once i've finished my current project I'm going to look for a Brooklands 280
Daz

I had best buy one before they get too expensive.
