Default car for the mrs.....??

moving back to UK in summer. im bringing my scoob (of course!) but the mrs is gonna get a uk car.

probably needs to be an estate car (she's a drummer!) with plenty of room in the back (ie not a scoobywagon, which i have and isnt the largest estate boot ever!). 2nd hand, not too much money. (less than £3500 i guess) with a bit of poke and good to drive.

was thinking maybe a legacy estate? octavia estate? golf estate? volvo?(if so which model?!).....i have no clue really!!

any suggestions would be welcome!!

cheers

No............ don't do it. Get her a shopping trolley instead!

Or, maybe a 306 D estate, or how about a Xantia diesel estate, these are both cheap as chips. You'd get a good low milage one for less than £3k

Mondeo,something like this?

Ford : Mondeo Estate 2.0ltr DCTi 130bhp Auto

Audi A6

Audi : Audi A6 Avant 2.5 TDi

BMW 5 series

BMW : 520i SE Touring

Ok this is a bit underpowered, but I'm sure you could get a 523i or 528i for a similar price

MG ZT Estate or the Rover 75 estate

Mitsubishi Galant

Mitsubishi : 2001 2.4 Estate

SAA5 9-5

Saab : Saab 9-5 Aero estate

VW Passat

Volkswagen : VW Passat 1.8T 20v Sport 5 Door Estate .....with a bit of tuning, could be okish?

Volvo V70

Performance Cars Direct : VOLVO V70 2.4 TURBO SE 7 SEATER FACELIFT ....ok out of your budget range.

Hope this helps!

Jay

My father in law had a deisel C5 estate for a fair while and really rated it.

Although having thought about it, he now drives a hyundai santa fe so his opinion probably isn't any good to you...!

you's be lucky for £3.5k though, the estates go for a premium (we couldn't find one for lexx than 5k 6 months ago), and the TDCI130s weren't around in the early years. tHe older models were quite a good drive though, and bigger then a v70
