I really like them - lower rev range is more torquier than the CTR - I had mine for around 5 months and loved it to bits - no probs at all.... Standard in white/black look the best imo.......

Hey all, cheers for the info on the SC option, but to be fair i'm planning on keeping it bog standard for the near future.
As said before, whats the deal with them?
Are they expensive to run? MPG, parts, servicing etc
what are like in comparison to the older DC2 ?
How much do they range from price wise etc etc
More info needed, cheers
P.s Got an insurance quote - £980 fully comp own name 23 5yrs NCB protected ;-)
RAF1 - how long you had yours? how do you find it? did you change from scoob?
just basically doing my research before commit & go looking for one.

Ok,
They are a JMD import only, you would have to ring your local dealer regarding serviing but I doubt they will as no model close to it exists in the UK.
MPG is reportedly same as the CTR (same engine with some tweaks)
Its like a DC2 only with creature comforts and weighs a touch more. Id take the DC5 anytime if its a daily driver too.
Price range depends on miles and year, but between 10k for a high mile early car, and upwards.
Look on Pistonheads for an idea.

Not just yet, but soon drb
Whatever replaces it is going to be track worthy. I'm sure the Evo would be great on track but not sure it would be anywhere near as exciting as an S2000 or DC5!

I have owned a DC5 since 2003. Much cheaper to run than my old style WRX.
Normal use town and country around 30 mpg. 35 mpg possible on motorway at 80 mph. Around Knockhill it drops to 16 mpg, but that is 6000 - 8600 rpm all the time.
Honda dealer in Aberdeen services it. Parts are not a problem. They are sourced from a depot in Belgium. Honda even sold me a warranty.
It's a great car. It's quick enough for most purposes. It is practical and very roomy. With the back seats down it wll carry a huge load. The engines seems bullet proof, provided you check the oil level. It does use oil if you get into VTEC on a regular basis, which you will do. Above 6000 rpm it is very quick.

Cheers - No, I've not done any more mods other than, changed the coilovers for Eibach springs and standard shocks (makes for better on road progress), added the CF bonnet and Wing plus Volk CE28N's in bronze, oh! I've put a small vinyl plate on the front to finish it off.
