I also couldn't give a toss about the badge anymore. If I can have a rapid 4 door, big booted, well specced brand new monster for £35k I'm a happy man.
As for BMW and Merc having reliabilty and rock solid residuals all I can ask is what planet do you live on?
Do you know how much a BMW M6 lost in its first year? More than £25k in some cases. How about a M3 CSL? How about any AMG? My C32 AMG had a new cost of £55k, I bought it about 18 months old from a dealer for £32k. That means the dealer paid £5k less for it!
For reliabilty take a wander on to a M5 forum and every page is littered with posts about transmission/gearbox problems and owners saying that the car spends more time at the dealer than on the road.
If the car has the handling to match the grunt, I would have no issues with driving that badge. Thats because like the other more mature here I know that success/money does not equate to a badge. Lots of people out there driving £75k cars on credit, I'm not going to be one of them.

I don't need the practicality of 4 doors, so I'll be waiting for prices on the VXR500 to drop a bit.

Not the actual car, but close enough.

There is talk of bringing the latest Chevrolet Camaro to Australia to fill the gap where the Monaro was. The Camaro was virtually designed in Australia anyway so by default it's really the next Monaro.

Had quite a few problems with it (cut out on him twice, left him stranded) so he sold it on 3 yrs later - 25k - thats a massive £££ hit! Even thought of buying it myself at that price.
