I have just managed to sort this out for my wife. Before we got married (but bought our house together) we settled any credit cards but she forgot to cancel the account!!!

As she had changed her name and got a new address it took the Halifax a while to get hold of her but she finally got a letter about 4 months ago saying she owed 1786 quid on her credit card!!!! I went barmy as I knew we had cleared everything to the penny!

Apparently she had an insurance policy that charged just incase she couldnt keep up with payments!! With this and the late payment + letters came to the above figure within 18 months!!!!!

I managed to get all of this back but she was asked to close all her accounts with them as they didnt want her business!!!!

Me, I skipped the paper rounds as a kid, couldn't and still can't get up in the morning Got myself a job at a supermarket though whilst at school with no family pushing, I just wanted some extra cash so got off my **** and went out to earn some Got a nice steady job (software development in a company doing thermal and electrical modelling for electronics) that pays me well enough to keep me and my missus living quite happily. It'd be nice to have more money and a nicer house, but we're quite happy how we are.

I'm fortunate in that my mum and dad had very little to their names when I was young, so they strived and earnt every penny they could to bring us a better life and fortunately it's rubbed off on me. Does make me a tight git down the pub sometimes though when it comes to my round

I hope those that have had the bank charges and are claiming them back learn the lesson as I don't think loopholes like this will be around forever. Take the financial lesson and look after your money and family better

All the best moses, here's to a happy and content life

mate u and your family sound such good people, God bless u all and your parents ameen

mate trust me been through hard times and good times my friend, im glad i experienced both coz it keeps your feet planted and makes u appreciative of everything , it feels so great when your not always in the overdraft even a tenner in credit is a blessing, i been their bud, we nearly lost oor homes mate when my dad passed away,God bless him, we lost alot of business and millions and God saved us many a time , theirs been times i woz wondering how am i gonna survive or how am i gonna pay my next mortgage etc i swear mate, but i always had faith that God is here and he will protect us and he will dae whats best, we also had alot of fights and problems wae inland revenue see when u dae proper business and dae it legit the government dont let u live in peace, all the fraudsters and tax dodgers get away wae murder but if u r trynna dae everything right and sometimes coz of business u can struggle and these taxmen arent bothered and want their stake in oor hard work and blood and sweat every yr, they woz gonna destroy what we had left yrs ago and take their money but i thank God we spoke tae one of their head guys and all those properties we sold slowly, cars, shops , houses we split it 50/50 wae them so we could keep oor head over water and also save the rest and pay aff the revenue folk

i call that an experience and a half, we woz young then when my dad passed away.

since the 60's till my dad died, he had become a self made millionaire and lost it and gained it 4 times and back and we aint wealthy millionaires now but hey at least i get food on the table and have shelter and health and my family but we still have enuff tae help us get going, i thank him for it

we should always be grateful of what we have , u sound such a man, God bless u bud, of course as humans we all wish for other stuff, its nothing wrong wae dreaming but glory be tae God for happiness, peace and oor families and health, nothing can beat that mate.

u know what hurt me the most then in my younger days when we had probs wae the taxmen woz , my family we r a hard working family and in oor lives we didnt once claim dole or sponge the government and still the government wont let u live in peace , but these dole scrounging scumbags manage 3 holidays a yr and wear gold and designer clothing and the alkies have a laff at oor expence

government does nothing against them but the hard working folk get it hard and nasty, thats what used tae make me very sad and then the run in;s wae the council tax folk , they charge too much while the mp's and councillars r on massive wages

thats why i luv V so much from v for vendetta and guy fawke,s that explains my way of thinking, a freedomfighter for the masses and my hero's above

nice tae talk tae u bud, all the best in life and most of all, God give u happiness and health u and your family and other things later

peace
