Cool project, good idea for a non turbo shell IMO.

Why didn't you go for a 302Ford V8? They seem to give more bang per buck and aren't as heavy as a RV8 IIRC.

RV8's are ten a penny, and light too, my v8 blocks half the weight of the complete EJ16 with oil in so should'nt be to mutch heavier once its all assembled. although a nice set of ajustable coilovers will be used on the car once its ready for the road. to keep the ride height and damping effect i'l need.

i'd have loved to go down the chev small block road but bits arent as easy to get as the rover ones.

That Rover V8 will be great for all the reasons you say.
They have been since they were made here.
