they have always been ok even with dialup - remember the days when you all complained about your 2hr cut offs - not with aol you didnt...

ROFLOL!

Used AOL many years ago. Was OK as long as you avoided using their own software.

Don't they use all private IPs for users - ie you don't get a public IP - or have things changed?

This would be a fairly major concern of mine....

iv been an aol member for years with relatively new problems.

Originally only went with them for the free month dial up trial but never found a reason to change.

However after the carphone warehouse takeover recently things have gone down hill.

Theyv implimented a fair usage policy which doesnt clearly set the download imits. Some people have been told its 5 gig, others 10 & also 20 been mentioned.

they have also started throtelling users downloads speeds to as little as 60kbs.

Im definately chaging isp just cant make my mind up who to go with. Leaning towards pipex at the mo.

i swapped from tiscali to aol for my work CCTV system and to browse at work

came with the free netgear router, i think uncapped is around £15 per month?
i do not use the aol browser, IE works fine without it........................

connection has been rock solid ever scince i switched

but its mainly used so i can log into the cctv cams at work and spy on the staff
like i`m doing now, SN one one monitor and the cameras on the other pmsl
