Micheal-what a great idea fella,and a big thanks for setting it up and getting the ball rolling,i know mark mentioned a stand alone forum a few weeks back,this thread is the closest we have got so far.

Mark-if you want to re-target the sheffieldscoobys web address at the other site,and lets see how we can get this off the ground as a group

Basically,we need to be looking at assaulting every scooby owner in sheffield whilst at the petrol station and pointing them in the direction of this site

everyone get signed up and lets get the new show season off to a flier with the help of that all shiney and pslewis free zone

You're welcome, was sat at home bored last night so thought I'd try and do something constructive!

Activation email shouldn't take long, when I signed up for the site I got confirmation in just a couple of emails, might be worth checking your 'spam' folder in case its gone in there?

I forgot to change my password over from the default so I can't get on there until tonight to start making changes etc.

But if people want to have a think about:

1) The structure of the site, what sections to have etc. I've stuck a couple of obvious ones up to get things moving but theres probably more, 'For sale', 'Wanted' etc.
2) Who should be mods/admin to get the most out of the site
3) The rules of the site, its Sheffield Scoobys forum so I'm not about to try and dictate anything, but its worth getting peoples input from the off to lay down some basic rules, mods know where they stand and what to slap peoples wrists for (metaphorically )

And most importantly

4) What smiles to add, theres hundreds available!

Oh yes, and if theres anyone thats good with photoshop, I guess a nice banner / logo would be a good start

 

Sounds good to me just need some ideas for stuff

moderators-anyone apart from dave and richard,as it will end up just plain weird and twisted on there

would you be able to host buisness adverts,as i may know of 2 or 3 interested to get the ball rolling,also would you/we/they be charged or just offer discounts to members ?

danny-fliers sound a great idea,especially as show season is just around the corner,anyone know a good printing company and flier disgner ?

As for businesses, its just a free board, not investigated the potential for putting advertisers up there. One though would be a rolling gif banner which features all the businessed as well as a Sheffield Scoobys logo?

I think discount for members would be the best way to go, but thats just my opinion

I like the catagories that have been suggested, i think that will do to start with.

As for Mods, I'll throw my name in the hat to be one. Would we have a different mod for different sections, or just general mods for the whole site?

I suppose we could thrash out the finer details on Monday evening.

 

Edited to add a looneybin of some sort. most sites seem to have them, and its a good place to put funnies.
