I had a westfield with about 100@ the wheels, 2ltl pinto boat anchor. You don't need massive power to go fast.
Had a few near misses in it, mainly due to showboating. I 180'd it off a mini roundabout into oncoming traffic, and another time while taking someone out accidentaly dropped it into 2nd while changing down from about 90.
Fun, but dangerous, I wouldn't have another.
on the plus side, I had it 4 years, paid 5.5K for it, spent 500 quid on it, and sold it for 5K. They seem to hold thier value.

Yeah thats right I sold it to Chris King, then he sold it onto Noz, last I heard Noz sold it to another member off of here? Seems to be the kind of car people love to own but not to keep, me thinks the life insurance man wouldnt be too keen on it

Ive seen a few videos and two things i noticed. Firstly it looks liek a supercar but drives like civic which makes sense. And secondly them doors are proper cheap and nasty, like a plastic moulding as a door.
Still very interested

Sureterm Direct I think (well I was last year). Look on the wscc site for a lot of westie friendly insurers. Stay away from the big insurers, they are usless at cars like these, they simply don't have a clue so just whack up the insurance rather than making a rational risk assesement on the car.

I always used footman james, the farted all over the competition. IIRC it was about 250 quid fully comp for 3K miles, and that was with 9 or 12 points.

Here was mine Westy
Cost me £170 a year with Sureterm direct on a 3000 mile policy - keeping my NCB on the Subaru.
Very cheap running costs and little depreciation

Any of you Westie owners live anywhere near Wetherby/Harrogate who would be willing to take me out for a blast in your car. I've fancied an Elise for ages but it's gonna cost for a really quick one. I guess a westie will give me the pace i would like without the associated cost of a 111R
