poss group buy on gauges
hey guys got a mail off danny,
The Stepper gauges are now in stock and he has another 7 green gauges still available:
1 Green Boost in PSI
1 Green Boost in BAR
3 Green Oil Pressure
2 Green Oil Temp
the group buy price is still availble on the stepper gauges too.
those who are still waiting are probably the second batch of orders as he didn't think we would get so many enquiries.

Well my three have turned up (the second batch) - can't argue with the value for money, there's tons of stuff in there and the senders look good. At first glance, it looks like it might be trickier than I thought to get into them to change the LED to red/green instead of red/white. Not impossible though.
Has anyone who's got them wired in found out how the peak warning function works? And is it possible to permanently mute them?

i found that after i wired them up i could not get them to mute all the time, to mute and keep the peaks you have to have a permanent live feed to them, and an ignition one for the lights.
hope this helps.

to mute them, turn off all power to the car, then press the litttle button on the front in and keep it in, now turn on the car they make the horrible beep noise then do the start up, wait till they come normal and release the button they should now be muted.
you need a permenant live to keep there memory

Got My gauges in the post this morning just before i went to work. Have to wait all day now until i get home and am able to open up the box.
Better get the oil sender plug and a pod now!!!
Did anyone have any problems with the gauges, someone had a faulty boost gauge and then someone commented that 2 in 3 were faulty.
I am hoping this is not true as getting them swapped out could be a pain.
Anyone got any pictures of them fitted yet??

I've just fitted mine now. Not exactly an evening's work though. By the time I'd fitted the #3 cylinder adapter and the pressure switch adapter then run the wiring through and hooked up the boost sender, I'd probably done a day's work at least. Still, it's all in now and looks wicked. I'm just getting to grips with how the warning functions work.
For some weird reason my oil pressure gauge is flashing red and white as if there's a warning and I can't seem to reset it. The warning level is set at 120psi so there's no chance of it actually getting close to that even at idle. The pressure reading is working fine so I'm not sure what the problem could be. I know the oil pressure switch isn't grounded properly now so I'm about to do that, maybe it will fix it? Anyone got any clues?
EDIT: Solved! Those gauges were too clever for their own good...boost and oil temp warnings were 'high' warnings as you'd expect. I just assumed that the oil pressure one would be the same even though a high oil pressure warning is not much good for anything. Turns out that the warning function on the oil pressure gauge is actually a LOW warning and so I set it down to 30 psi it sorted it.

Would appreciate any advice
It was pretty straihtforward. Removed dashtop box so I could see the air ducts underneath and the metal cross member under the dash. Pulled out centre console, stereo etc. Tapped into electrical feeds for permanent 12v and 'acc' (switched 12v) off the back of my stereo, attached a grounding wire to one of the stereo cage screws. Ran +12v, ACC and - up to the dashtop area and fed through the old latch hole. Fed the three sender wires DOWN through the old latch hole and dropped them down to the right, where they popped straight out just near the clutch pedal.
I used the rubber bung just above the downpipe to feed through, so went round to the engine bay and popped that out first. Then went back inside, fed the three sender wires through the hole and threaded them through a hole I'd made in the rubber bung. From thereon it was just a case of connecting stuff together and routing round the engine bay. I loomed these three wires together and ran them alongside the gearbox dogbone mount rather than the offside wing.

#3 cylinder bung location:

Basically look down the gap between your inlet manifold and the intercooler on the turbo side and you can see it. Probably going to need a long extension bar to get in there, I haven't done mine yet, but other than being fiddly it doesn't look as bad as the pressure switch.

If you read back in the thread I posted a link to someone who was doing a deal for us. I think it was on page 4. He'll do both the adapters for £25 delivered IIRC. Although now I've done the job I think you could easily get away without using the long remote adapter for the pressure gauge. A simple two-port block that screwed into the engine would do.
Ordered my remote pressure gauge T-piece kit from LMA.
Just sent them an Email and they seny me a Ebay/Paypal invoice. Guy was very good and quick to respond. Got the kit this morning so only 2 days from order to delivery.
Was £27.50 including delivery and include the oils sender unit bung.
Oldered a 2 gauge pillar pod (RGA) from Larkspeed which i will hopefully get before the weekend and allow me to fit the lot.
Got 2X Boost gauges, one for me Impreza and the other for the wiffy's Zafira GSi. Fitted that at last weekend and it looks cool. Match's the amber clocks in her car.
Can not wait to get mine in and working...
Will post a pic when fitted and working....

well I have them installed in an ATI dashtop pod - although I still have to connect the gauge senders (will do that tomorrow hopefully - all the wiring is in, just have to plug it all up!)
Switching between white (day) and Green (night) and look great!
