im going to try and do mine at dinner

mite get a bit thought

basically as i have a sport, im doing it for looks more than actual readings lets face it, dont really need to measure much,

the gauges i got were :

water temp
air/fuel
volt

i got air/fuel as it ment some one else could get a complete set as i wanted oil temp too, but im too kind lol

seen as im not bothered about the readings, the volt will be easy to do,

i will be using the feeds behind the headunit, not the clever bit, my head unit pre outs max at 2.0 volts just enough for the air/fuel to measure so i may use that, in theory that is, and the water temp fits easy enough too.

wish me luck hahahah

I've just heard back about the gauges and it seems the boost gauge will be in bar but the oil pressure in psi. Bit annoying as in the pictures they showed bar, so we all assumed they would be in bar as shown. Still I can put up with psi on the oil pressure if I must...

Nightmare, looks like its going to be a 50:50 over Bar/Psi. Knowing my luck I'll get PSI Will he swap it if I send it back do you think? I really can't be bothered getting to grips with a new scale

all fitted

went for white during day and at night,

pretty cool gauges mind the beep **** me up, but you can mute it

the volt gauge works fine, i have to connect the temp sender under the bonnet and find some way of fooling the air/fuel gauge as i really dont want to patch into the ecu or lambda probe wires

My boost gauge is in Bar but oil pressure is in Psi, not to impressed to be honest considering they were both origionally shown in Bar.

Is the air/fuel ratio not a bit pointless unless set up with wideband?

I think I've got an Air/Fuel guage in PSI instead of Boost in Bar ... emailing Danny now. Oil pressure is also in PSI.

Mine arrived yesterday as well!!

All in PSI not BAR.....

Never mind....

I can put up with it....

Danny offered to change, but I don't fancy waiting another couple of weeks for the replacements......

Now off to fit.....

As fair as pods go - I've had an RGM custom pillar single gauge pod from Scoobyworld delivered today - been out to dry fit it and its a very good fit. I'm going to use it for my boost gauge.

As for the other two gauges I've made a gamble and ordered one of these:

Once it arrives I will take some pics actual item, let you know what the quality is like and pass on details of where I got it! I don't want to say yet though in case its a pile of poo.

Oh, and I got my sender adaptors from Nick today as well!

All fitted today....

What a pain in the **** to get to the bung at above 3rd cylinder!!

Anyway... I've got a problem, I'll also post this on the technical section as well...

The boost guage starts in the negative and only gets to 0 ( zero) when on full boost....

I can't understand, there seems to be no way to adjust it to start from zero....

I've double checked all the connections, wires etc.....

Anyone any idea??

Cheers
Scott

Was the the dual pod from my link or did you find another UK source for them.

I am going to need a gauge pod so would be interested in views on quality/fix and any pictures.

Boost should be negative at idle and low throttle applications and but should rise to and well beyond zero quite easily to 0.8.1-whatever bar

I bought the same ones of the same guy so far 2 out of 3 are faulty

I am sure he will sort it out but it's a pain when you have waited over a month and nothing works.

Any body else had any problems with the boost gauges.

I do not rate my chances if 2 outa 3 seem to give problems as i have ordered 2X Boost and 1X Oil Pressure.

So on the odds i am bound to get at least 1 faulty unit.

Quite a few of you have already got the gauges. Anyone fitted them and they are working OK?

Hopefullly they have sorted quality issues and it is not longer 2 in 3 that are faulty..

OK, i'm lost with this thread, but i'd like some guages.

- Are there top pods available for a newage, to match the dash?
- What's the final price for the 3 stepper guages?
- What's the price for these additional parts?

Ideally wanted green-lit ones, but didn't like the second image of dials shown, was those the only options, just the two sets??

Can i still order these?

Okay - seeing as this has turned a little into a "anything to do with gauges bought with this group buy thread"!!

This is the dash frame gauge pod that I bought from the states.

Front.

Underside. From this you can see the gauge pods are acutally slightly angled into you.

Side view.

I paid around £38 for it with shipping. The quality is - Okay. Not OE quality fantastic, but for £38 can't complain and is good enough for me to live with I think. Some slight moulding imprefections on the mould edges (which are all on the back edges so will be hidden when fitted).
It has the two fixing points in the top as per OE frame and two additional holes for self tappers in the front of frame. The front edges of the dash frame are more rounded than the OE item. It has a pretty good matt finish so should hopfully be fairly comfortable to live with.

So if anyones interested in one of these give me a PM and i'll pass on the email of who I got it from (its an ebay seller but don't want to break any rules by posting it here) who has told me that they will set up a buy it now for anyone whos interested.

I haven't got my gauges yet, so no pics of it fitted; as soon as it is I'll give everyone a look.

The gauge frame is for a newage; haven't seen any for a classic but then I haven't really looked. Happy to supply the email address of the supplier if you'd like to enquire.
