Got one of my two boost gauges fitted to my Wife Zafira GSi over the weekend. And it seems to work with no problems. So at least one of the Boost Gauges is faultless..
Looks pretty good too. Think it needs a better pod but OK for now..
The Impreza Boost and Oil Pressures gauges are now ready to fix, got an RGA double pilliar pod, really good quality and fit is excellent, but the bottom gauges top is a little hidden by the one above. Is this normal or is it just a feature of the RGA pod? Anybody?
Got at the fittings for the oil pressure take-off from the group buy so can now not wait to fit them. Have to wait until the weekend though as i get in to late each night in the week....

Has anyone done or considering doing a step-by-step guide with pics on how to fit these. Mines are still gathering dust as I'm really busy redeveloping the house - the car is totally backburnered just now!

Anybody had any problems with there Oil Pressure Gauges.
Mine is installed and no matter if the engine is on/off or the Oil sender i connected or not it just hovers between 150-160 PSI (Not sure of the PSI mark as not looking at the car)
I am hoping it is a silly install issue that someone has had and already fixed.
Typical, installed all the cables, senders, mounted the oil-pressure T from the pressure switch under the Altenator. All cable tided in and looking really good and the Gauge is doing funny things.
Any Help would/Guidence would be great. Was hoping my next post on this thread was gonna be a pic of the gauges installed and the undr bonnet install. Have to wait a bit for that.
Hope one of you guys that have already got theres all in a working can help me out with pointer or tell me the stupid thing i have done....

Well mine are working brilliantly. But you say that the thing stays at 150-160 psi (the end of the scale?) the whole time, whether engine is on or off and whether sender is connected or not? Presumably you've tested this by disconnecting the sender wiring?
If so, then it's a faulty gauge, simple as that. Send it back and get it replaced. If the reading changed when you disconnected the sender then it would be more likely the sender or wiring.

Mine worked fine for a day, but now just shows 0 psi whether the car is running or not. I'm emailling Danny at XyberAutos at the mo.
It sounds like it maybe wired up wrong, just a guess though so I may be wrong. Do what Silent running suggested.

Ok, I gonna check the wiring (+,perm live,-) just in case i screwed something up and then the cable routing under the dash to make sure it not snagged.
Otherwise it will have to go back.
It is not the sender as it makes no difference if it is connected or not.
I have got the power pass thru from one gauge to another connect so will disconnect that too.
Got the boost gauge and oil pressure in a 2 gauge pillar pod. I had to order another Vacuum/Boost sensor as the original was mislaid (Read the wife chucked it!!!) So do not yet know if the boost gauge is working or not.
If i have the boost Gauge wired and it played up i would know it was my dodgy install.
It does sound like the gauge to me though. It fairness i normally install this kind of stuff without any problems.
The wife Boost gauge in her GSi worked no prob's. Think i may nick her Boost/Vac sensor.... Get mine working..
Danny said mine sounded like a install issue............

Checked my Oil Pressure gauge over the weekend to see if i had screwed anything up during install.....
Every thing seemed OK until i pushed the Oil Sender sensor wire that connects into the back of the gauge. Turn's out it was not pushed completely home. So it yours does not work or suddenly stopped working make sure the cables are all pushed home before send the gauge back as faulty.....
A really stupid error on my part, but a easy one to make. My gauges were awkward to get at the backs off once mounted so that’s my excuse!!
Thought i would share my stupid moment with you all. The Gauge works great, it reacts instantaneously, no delay of the needle at all.
Just waiting on my replacement boost/vac sensor now.

Sjwdavies I might be willing to sell my gauges and pod for what I paid for them. They are gathering dust in my bedroom and I'm so busy in my flat I doubt I'll ever get round to fitting them. They were something of an impulse buy and whilst they will look good I don't actually need them - already got a boost gauge.
PM me if interested.

Hi all, I need to borrow an oil pressure gauge to see whether my problem is the gauge or the sender, as Danny at xyberautos said he would replace the faulty part (sender or gauge) so if anyone who is local to the slough area bought a set of these gauges on the group buy and is willing to let me borrow it for a couple of minutes please give me a shout.
cheers

Hi,
Can someone who bought the oil temperature gauge tell me what the connections are on the back of the gauge that goes to the temp sensor.
There is a black and white wire but the connector on the back of the gauge has 4 pins which ones do they go to?
I managed to pull the connector off the cable and can't see which one goes on which pin.

I spoke to XyberAutos about 3 days ago and mentioned this thread and they offered me the price still. So i reckon they are still happy to go with this group buy... If in doubt e-mail them, they seem willing enough to continue with it for now.
Can someone give me someone advice on the following:
I want these gauges but i want a centre dash pod (where clock is) but their website does not really give nice pictures of them. I dont want to buy it and it look pants!. Can anyone point me in the direction or recommend the best looking centre pod for an 03 STI please???? Thanks all

Finally got round to having my guges fitted today.
They look great. Just not too sure if my boost gauge works correctly.
It`s in PSI spends most of them time on negative boost but when I acclerate hard it only seems to goto 0. Surely it should go well into the positive section??
is my gauge faulty?
Or is it wired/plumbed in wrong??

Let me know if I've missed the post in this thread somewhere,but....
What's needed to get these up and running on an 02STI UK ?
Order the gauges from xyberautos (stepper turbo conversion kit, under 'subaru' ? - and how do I specify oil pressure gauge to be PSI ?)
Get a centre pod -
Any extra fittings needed ?
Oh - and how long do they take to be delivered ?
Ta,
Mark

I've fitted the gauges and the senders (except the oil pressure). However, the boost gauge reads zero (against the stop, not '0') constantly. If I disconnect it from the MAP sensor, it reads MAX (2.0 bar) and flashes, so the gauge appears to read something. Checking the wires, disconnecting black or white causes this, but the red appears to have no effect.
Any idea how I can check it ?
Does anyone live 'near' Stafford - can I borrow your MAP sensor for a minute ?

Well, finally fitted the stepper gauges today (about 9 months after getting them!). Took me about 9 hours. But took my time and did a good job. I was replacing some existing gauges so reused the Oil temp sender on #3 cyclinder. Found out that for the Oil temp sender - the white is the signal and the black is an earth.
Mounted the black boost sender (ie, vacuum pipe to signal unit) on the right suspension mount. So the vacuum pipe is as short as can be.
Used the aforementioned oil presssure extension lead that I got off ebay to mount both the original oil pressure sender and the gauge sender. All mounted just to the right of the alernator.
Wired everything back through the grommet behind the brakelines (the one further below looked a little too close to my downpipe). Absolute mare to get to. Tapped ignition-live from the cigarette lighter, constant live from the hazards switch, and "light"-live from a wire under the dash I eventually found with a voltmeter (trial and error).
Amazingly, they all worked first time - just about. And are set for white in daytime and amber at night. If you want to mute the buzzers then you can, but unless fed with constant live, the mute setting will be "forgotten" when you turn the ignition off. That was the one mistake I made and had to fix. But all working now, and looks great.
Have never used so many cable ties before Must have got though 25 or so. And my fingers hurt from crimping 20+ connections. And I think I've broken some ribs (!) peering up under the dashboard whilst laying half in the foot well and half ouside the door.
All worth it in the end. Happy bunny.
