1, it was more than a week ago BARELY IF AT ALL




2,i was not here yesterday to see what was posted,so i never edited. No one even suggested you did edit anything yesterday




3, we were having a laff and it was put back to normal,where has your sence of humour gone???as we were on msm at the time and i told you. Like i said, i let it go at the time, the last edits was the final staw

theres a few people now that things lie extremely arkward with, and theres is still a few things i want to say to a few people in person, its easy to hide behind a pc, if someone has something to say,i would much prefer they say it to me, less chance of thigs getting out of hand that way

 

no idea what went on, not taking sides and not fussed or going to get involved in dragging stuff up..............

from this thread alone it seems that certain people abused their moderation (by reading the posts here speye is mentioned), also John seems to have taken it all very personally for various reasons..............

seems to me that this should have been resolved very easily, its a club for people with similiar interests in cars, not **** or whatever else - i'm sure if you want something more involving you can easily find it on the net (just like the top shelf of the newsagent).................
you shouldn't have to read stuff that you don't want to or have to try and work out wether its 'family' viewing before opening a thread

personally i think Martin has been the unfortunate victim of his usual helpfulnes and good faith, hwtaever the reasons we should take a deep breath and move on - EVERYONE

that means no more dragging sh*te up from previous threads/posts, take a few minutes to have a quiet conversation with the people involved and move on!!

Martin its your site you started the forum and you pay for it, you make the rules mate and if people dont like the rules then they can go to lots of other forums for what they want. I would open the site, post your rules and make all members agree to the rules or they cant post on the forum, infact only registerd users can post once they agree to the terms (your terms)

To be honest I dont know where to start and I don't really want to as I think it's very sad.

I think the comment made to John about him ruining TTS is a bit harsh for starters. I won't elaborate on it, just keeping it as short as poss.

Yes certain things have been posted up which might have been unappropriate but look what gets posted on SN, it gets dealt with and the whole forum isn't closed down.

As for another comment made about John coming across as confrontational, then yes he may well be, he also speaks sense out his mouth not out his ar$e, I find him fine to speak to, then again to see him as confrontational depends on what type of person you yourself are to be able to deal with him, me for one can take any comments he may say, as I know when it's serious or a joke, where as some may see a joke as offensive or take it out of context.

As for mentioning me as a mod, well do you know what, I would tell you all to grow up and **** off! How sad can this get, it's unbelievable.

Last Thing

I AM NOT, AND I REPEAT NOT TAKING SIDES WITH JOHN OR WITH ANYONE ELSE SO BEFORE ANYONE SEES IT THAT WAY WELL IT IS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL.

Ok guys before i start, i'll just say i really hope you dont mind me sticky my big beak in here, but i woudl like the opportunity to put across what i feel about this post.

Obviously i dont know the full story as i dont go on TTS but i know your a feckin' great club and the work you do for charity is brilliant.

Anyway. i'll just say this. There is not a Scooby club in the country who do not have disagreements or fallings out from time to time.

We (Smacs) have our own forum and we have had instances where things can get heated, the truth is the internet can be a great ally and a terrible enemy at times, Things can get taken out of context when your behind a keyboard and certain more outspoken people can come across as trouble causing or aggressive.

We do have moderation which is run by a handful of senior members, but it hardly ever gets moderated. once or twice i think and that is to change mistakes or dates blah de blah. but in general we get on.

We do have rules and stuff like **** is not permitted - although scantily clad women (and men for the girls) are to a certain degree anyway.

The funny thing is if anyone does have a set to as sooon as we have our monthly meet we have a drink and its a pat on the back and a laugh about it and its forgotton.

Forums imo need basic rules but on the other hand Mods cannot and shouldn't go overboard with their modding powers.


In this instance it might be an idea of all those concerned to meet up personally at a pub and sit round a table have a few drinks and put this behind them. Works for us.

Anyway i'll say no more and apologies again for sticking my beak in i just thought i'd say that your club is not alone in disagreeing from time to time.

and as for the WYIOC - you should hear them bicker (sorry guys)

Hi Guys

Just tried to get on the TTS site and noticed it was down, Then spotted this.

For me a very new member of the site i am very disapointed.

My view is FORGET ABOUT IT (All Parties), regarless or your position. Things have been said and done now.

I agree with a lot of things posted in this tread but to be honest i dont care, I just want TTS back up and running.

I think the word ****, not saying it was or wasnt mind, needs to be made clear or it need to be zero tollerance and have none at all.

And a rules agreement should be added upon registration, and if you break the rules your out..simple.

A lot of work has gone into the site and in fact the club so lets appreciate this and the people doing the work.

Look around at all the other regional scooby sites and how friendly the are, I cant believe i found our regional site and this has happened.

Can we not just put this down to teething problems, think of a solution and act in NON Confrontational manner and sort this minor problem.

How does this sound, unless you know the full story, IE, what was posted on the TTS forum can you please keep your oppinions to yourself as to who is to blame for this, you really are not helping matters.

People who are banging on about the effort put into TTS and the way im treating martin, i will excuse your ignorance just this once, do a little fact finding mission before you start repeating these comments.

Martin has worked so hard on this club, i know that for a fact, being one of the 1st members in the first place, i have seen how its grown from the beginning, to now. Im pretty certain most of you cant make the same claim.

Micky, i dont understand why your partner had to post on this thread, i really dont, i comunicated with you by PM and can you confirm that not a word i said to you was confrontational in any way shape or form, yet Lisa then comes on laying blame. When you know me, i will accept people oppinons on my character and not before.

I can see however how my recent posts can be seen as confrontational, but i will say again, ALL the blame was laid at my feet for the site being taken offline. Because i spoke up and complained about a very valid matter, i got hit with the lot. Still to date has it been suggested that anyone other than me was to blame for this, and as you all know, i have had a very strong reaction to, its not true, i dont like it and im not going to accept it.

a public apology has been posted by my self, and much to my disappointment, has not been acknowlaged. The way this has been handled is disgraceful imo, very unproffesional to single out and make a scape goat of any member in such a public way.



i would like to point out martin, the offering to resolve this has been put forward twice now by myself and both times ignored. Very dissapointing for both myself and joanne who also will now not be attending any more of the TTS monthly meets

Thats better, so maybe both of us were over reacting. But, switch it round, if martin was being blamed by the majority of a forum, would he defend himself, regardless if he was to blame? would you? i did and i would do the same again.

maybe if the thread was locked as previously called for, people wouldnt be able to add there views on a matter that really hasnt got anything to do with them, maybe then things can try and get back to normal.

a lot of us have had a site taken away from us ( albeit temporarily) but bickering and arguing about what has happened is going to make things much more hostile.
I;m a member of a mainly female bikers site... and we've had disagreements and arguements on there... and I thought women were bad....... i'll tell you... us girls ain't got a patch on you blokes !!!!!!

OK..... I'm glad things have calmed down a bit in my absense.

I have taken a few hours out to compose my thoughts and take a long hard look at the forum and it's future. My thoughts are as follows:

1. I would like the forum to continue

2. I do not want the forum to be members only (viewing) as this does not promote the club to a wide audience.

3. As it then will be an open forum, members have to consider the content of their post with regard to nudity, foul language and gestures and incitement of hatred and must not post content or links of this nature. Please remember that female viewers may be offended by some more adult posts.

4. To counterout this, an Adult Only (Over 18 only) section available to members only will be added. This must not contain 'hard core ****' and will be moderated. I am hoping to be able to allow access to this part of the forum by request only.

5. Only the Adult Section will be moderated. All other sections will be 'self moderating' with posts that 'cross the line' being reported to myself for consideration.

6. There will be a 'Sports' section added.

The modifications to the site are going to take a while, so be patient.
