I've had two cars with heated seats and they warm up within a minute or two, perfectly quick enough.

I don't agree with this I'm afraid - I'm talking about a Legacy, Jag, AMG merc and an Astra.
Which model of vehicle are you talking about?

Heated seats come in pretty handy when you are stranded by the side of the road with a dead engine in the current cold snap..

Heated seat performance does vary enormously, wifies MX5 is within a minute or so and very effective, my car is a lot longer.

Wow, not often a 6 year old thread comes in useful. Just bought an '07 ST TDCi mondeo this week as a daily driver, wondered why the heated screens came on automatically!

Six years on...Having driven a one year old 61 plate 1.6TDCi 50miles on Thursday I was nearly suicidal with boredom. What happened? Focii used to be a fairly good drive for a hum drum everyday car, nowadays its a wallowy gutless lardy pile of poop....And it didn't have a quickclear screen either (optional extra).

Anyhoo, to answer the orginal question most cars that were under Ford ownership at some point have them, even though they aren't owned by Ford anymore; i.e Land Rover, Volvo, Jaguar.

The other thing to look for is diesel engine cars fitted with webasto heaters. This is a little diesel fueled heater that assists in heating the car (and engine). Some cars with these fitted (i.e BMW) can have them remotely activated via a keyfob to heat up the car

Also high-spec VAGs with diesel engines have electric heater elements in the heater. Not powerful, but they do aid in demisting quicker....My (petrol) Golf doesn't have one, but my mates TDI Bora has...his screen de-ices alot quicker than mine.

Although, all I have to do to sort that is spray the washer jets a few times - I've changed the BCU settings not to activate the wipers with the washers. In winter I run a 1:1 ratio of Quantum screenwash, which works as a very good de-icer. Spray, wait 10 seconds, then wipe. Heater is still fecking cold and takes ages to warm up, but I have heated seats to help with that

We've got a Range Rover & a Mini Cooper with heated screens - they are fantastic in the winter & clear the frost really quickly.

The Range Rover also has a heated steering wheel - I thought it was a gimmick, but on a cold morning, it's lovely....
