Evez, did you have to change the plugs and fuel pump on yours or are they the standard wrx bits?

Just trying to work out whats best before remapping but the list keeps growing!

Hello

Just upgraded the plugs, don't need an upgraded Fuel pump as I am leaving the car pretty much as it is now. Same sentiment applies to the smaller id Up-pipe, getting the most out of what I have.

My list of mods off the top of my head.

H&S Jap BB
H&S De-res Centre
Prodrive De-cat Rear Centre
H&S Sports Cat Down Pipe
H&S De-cat Up-pipe (made to internal Diam 45mm)
Denso Iridium upgraded spark Plugs
Prodrive ECU remapped to Mocom's secret recipe
Prodrive Intercooler Hose

Add a bit of Mocom .... out pops 235 WHP

I really haven't done that much, no snazzy filters, injectors, pumps etc. Just well thought out mods ( Mr Zak) to get the best out of my pretty much standard WRX.

I know I could make it faster but TBH I struggle to stay legal driving it as it is, and it is certainly faster than my driving ability. Plus I am confident its not going to blow up as I haven't gone to extremes having made mostly exhaust modifications. Anyone else thinking of going to Mocom, give Zak a call to discuss what you want to do with your car. I have saved money by not making unecessary mods to get to where I am now.

You lot are going to have so much fun when Zak has finished, I love my little WRX sooooo much

If you look at other peoples WHP not BHP, you will get a much clearer view of who is running what. It may surprise you when you scratch beneath the rolling road flywheel glory figures

Anyone at Mocoms on Friday morning, I am having my Passat aligned?

Sorry I should have put, initially a little disappointed, I'm loving the car now and would heartily recommend Zak's services to anyone

I spoke to zak last week and its ok for me to join the GB.
So ive got.

Standard WRX 05
Its only got 3000 miles on so should be fault free.
prodrive backbox
prodrive decat centre <--- Finally got hold of this.
Prodrive intercooler Y pipe
Green cotton panel filter
Denso plugs to be fitted by Zak.

Im not going to fit a DP yet (perhaps later)
Im hoping for a Bhp figure similar to the PPP.

Will I feel the difference with the mods ive got??
I hope so.

Im ringing ZAk tomorrow to book myself in.

Unlikely. You would need to be making over 210WHP to get near the PPP figure, and the only real 'power' upgrade I can see is the decat rear centre.

I have

H&S Jap BB
H&S De-res Centre
Prodrive De-cat Rear Centre
H&S Sports Cat Down Pipe
H&S De-cat Up-pipe (made to internal Diam 45mm)
Denso Iridium upgraded spark Plugs
Prodrive ECU remapped to Mocom's secret recipe
Prodrive Intercooler Hose

and I made between 272.6bhp and 293.75bhp

Pre Zak I had PPP and only made 182WHP which is between 211.12bhp and 227.5.

The up-pipe and Down Pipe really are where those extra horses are hidden.

You will however get a much better car to drive and there should be definite torque benefits.

Heres some more of my own Mocom magic, ripped from my other thread.

Here you go... for those interested

As promised.. please remember these figures are AT THE WHEELS

Funny really how my in gear times are virtually no different to when we threw 1.6 bar through my old VF35 but these are only in 4th gear and up to 90mph. Where she really comes good are through the gears and my 30mph to 130mph area.
This graph follows my other one untill about 5.5k rpm after that, this turbo blitzs the old one. The graph being the same is due to the boost being only kept to 1.3 bar until around 4k. This is to combat surge from big boost.. however hopefully we have some neat ideas to reduce surge and hopefully wind the boost up alot more in the middle.. maybe 1.6 to 1.7 bar.

Currently she runs and holds 1.5bar to the redline.

In gear times are as follows.
40-60mph = 2.7 sec
50-70mph = 2.5 sec
60-80mph = 2.6 sec
70-90mph = 2.9 sec

Click the graph to make it bigger, for those that cant read the figures..

she made

302.8bhp @ 6342rpm
272lbsft @4291rpm.

AT THE WHEELS!!

I've been waiting weeks for this post as im considering it for my 03 STi PPP too. Just trying to weigh up the benefits of sourcing another 03STi ECU instead of overwriting the PPP for now though

Malc
Zak keeps the original PPP map on his laptop so if you ever wanna go back to the Prodrive map he's got it stored for ya.

Belive me M8 i thought the Prodrive map was good but the one Zak's done is 100% better, so much more responsive and like i said earlier it keeps on pulling from 2000rpm right the way through the rev range. He put the original map back on near the end of the mapping session just for comparison. It was like night and day.

Get booked up you'll love the results

Cheers for organising it to Fozz
