As Andy_S has mentioned over on SIDC, I have enjoyed a good "joint" day out between CADS/SMACS(rollin road, etc) so lets not turn this into something it doesn't need to be.

i go to the CADS meets and the SMACS meets but i,m weird and also an exception to any rules and reg,s 
at the end of the day they are both car groups supporting the same brand so really its up to yourself . try them both and if you dont like one just go to the other but there is also nothing to stop you from going to both as there are quiet a few people who do. You are your own man so stand up and show it
must say though that the new pub where the cads meet is a good drive along some nice lanes

I gave up with the cads after two meets, there great if you want to visit stately homes and take slow drives in the counrtry.
