Seriously guys the times that these posts appeared I WAS NOT POSTING ON THE BOARD I HAVE WITNESSES TO PROVE IT!!! I was out with Andy Tang and Ian White from midday onwards (and we have piccies too !!!)

This happened when the BBS was **** up, I did not mean to post so many time, but I have pissed myself laughing at the amount of times it posted - 8 times LOL sorry

Truly I did not mean them to post so many times, very sorry......

Michelle (Now taking bets on how many times this post will appear )

What has happened is that when the BBS went **** up the threads time out when you submit the post so going back and re-submitting I thought would do the trick....little did I know that when I did this the BBS would post the one that I thought hadn't posted.

It seems that I have actually picked up a problem but it looks like I am going to be jumped on for this.

I notice that moderators seem to be suddenly sharking in on this so YES I HAVE TAKEN THE HINT

I CANNOT DO ANYTHING THAN EDIT THE DAMN POSTS

SORRY TO **** YOU ALL OFF

Ian and Andy are mentioning that it may be an IE6 issue......

**** I really can't be arsed to apologise anymore if you have got a problem then fine I will bugger off.

Having been up for 48 hours with jet lag I am not in the best of moods........I will not have internet access for a while so I will be back in a few days to judge the reaction on this thread.

Here we go again

Evil I hear what you say, I guess I am feeling a little oversensitive but there are some really two faced ar5eholes on here who annoy me.

Unfortunately most are too spineless to come out in the open.

I digress though.

I will sleep soon, once I have settled enough to sleep...

Bizarre -- I am also using IE6 and I'm not double-posting (AFAIK). However, when I click on the 'submit' button nothing happens. I have to close that window, open another one and go to the thread and then my post is there.

This is a disclaimer from me as I have been set up.........I went to the loo only to come back and find that leaving my password in the screen with two people I thought I could trust and find that they have posted several more of the same posts

They are now trying to work out how to cover up their bad deeds Mr Tang and Mr White (cough oooops did I mention their names?????)

I fear that I am now going to be ostracised by the general scoobynet population

Do not accuse me of muppetting about as I know you lot don't appreciate muppets in general..........

That's it paranoia setting in HELP

AAARGH

I am leaving the board, I cannot take it any more.......

Adieu adieu adieu (boom) (splutter) (damn it won't start)

(wretched car)

(come on)

(roar)

(phew - wipes forehead)

Bye now.......so long........farewell (bursts into tears)

I WAS FORCED TO LEAVE!!!!! I WAS!!!!

I DIDN'T WANT TO BUT YOU MADE ME!!!!

AAARRGH GOODBYE

Carl - that is strange, I'm having to do exactly the same thing though not every time, just most of them!

I have just tested this on an IE 5.5 and an IE6 setup, and it deffinatly appears to be something to do with IE6 not liking the ASP page posibly?

IE6 actually loced when i posted this message too. It seems to only be affecting teh reply.asp page all the otherss are working fine.

Nope - not IE6. I have 5.01 5.5 and 6 on different PC's. They are all doing the same thing. The multiple post thing happens if you leave it looking for the thankyou for posting page. (And when Messers Tang and White get your password)

Unhappy

I am finding Scoobynet a bit of a struggle at the moment too.

Very slow, unpredictable response and lots of 'unavailables' at random

Oh, and a few double posts.

I too am having serious problems with scoobynet. I *know* we have no right to complain, given that it's free n all, and simon and the rest of the team do it all off thier own backs, but this is terrible. In the past two days I've managed to get on for about 2 - 3 hours max, and I know it's not my connection, as it's my works connection and other sites are fine and dandy.

so it's either the server, the connection, or the bbs software, and I'm leaning towards the new software.

We all love scoobynet and I don't want to see it disappear but things are getting a little out of hand here.

The problem (as I see it):

When using IE6 to post, it will either be very quick and have no problems, or it will seem to struggle and the blue bar in the bottom right takes forever to go up.

If I open another window a couple of seconds after the post, it will have updated the thread, but it will still seem to try to post on the first window. If I click the 'submit' button again, it will appear as a double post up to half an hour later!!!

Using the same ISP (either Blueyonder or AOL at home & AOL or Demon at work) this can be repeated with an IE6 window. Although when I use AOL to post in the same thread, with the same information, it processes it immediately! AOL I've been informed is based on IE5.5.

From my experience with three different ISP's and the fault is always there when using IE6, although using the AOL browser there isn't the issue whichever ISP I'm using!

Conclusion: IE6 seems to have problems with the Active Service Pages on Scoobynet!

I am going to agree with Andy here, we actually sat down and discussed it yesterday evening, and I tested it on an IE 5.5 system using the same connection as my WinXP (IE6) and the IE6 system showed the problem, while the IE 5.5 didn't.
