Why is it that everyone thinks that because Microsoft makes the Xbox it automatically makes it a PC. It's not which is why no PC cdroms are compatible with it. There are loads of top developers making games for it (hardly any PC ports). And as for it being an outsider, wasn't everyone saying the same thing when the PS1 arrived. They didn't think it stood a chance because as far as they were concerned Sony were only good at making TV's and video recorders, the couldn't have been more wrong.

And as for Project Gotham compared to GT3. GT3 may look better, I can't comment because believe it or not I still haven't seen project Gotham moving. But think about this for a sec. Polyphony had years to make GT3, in fact they started straight after GT2, 98 I think. Project Gotham only had about 12 month development time before it had to be rushed to meet the Xbox release date. If people are making games looking near enough as good as what the PS2 is capable of already on the Xbox, think about what the future releases will look like.
All I'm saying is don't write it of before it released, give it a chance, if it gets the time it deserves enough time for people to release some quality titles, I think a lot of people will be eating humble pie.

By the way does anyone know what the hell is wrong with Scoobynet, it's taking ages to log on and sometimes I can't even connect.

Oy, Holt! Haven't forgotten you and your Sensi gang!

I think that gap you mention - it has a fair bit to do with the PC having games designed around a keyboard and mouse hasn't it ? Its virtually impossible to do flight sims without a keyboard, along with some other games I could mention.

that may have had something to do with the direction of pc games sometime ago, but theres tons of pads you can use on the pc for driving games etc so no excuse now.

Also makes you wonder why theres never been a decent fighting game on the pc (like streetfighter, tekken series etc).....

May be something to do with target market age or something, i dunno.

As for sensi, looks like thats not the only thing i disagree with you on

NINTENDO GAMECUBE: Hotter than Potter!

New Nintendo Console Tops Movie Wizard, Video Game Rivals

REDMOND, Wash., Nov. 20, 2001 - Young wizard Harry Potter may have worked box office magic over the weekend, but his potion of profitability actually was trumped by the powerful new NINTENDO GAMECUBE video game system. Movie industry sources put ticket receipts for the three-day opening weekend of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at $93.5 million. But combined U.S. retail revenues for NINTENDO GAMECUBE (including hardware systems, games and accessories) reached more than $98 million in just its first single day of availability on Sunday, November 18.

The NINTENDO GAMECUBE also represented the top video game launch of 2001, with initial hardware unit sales running more than twice that of the Microsoft Xbox, and even Nintendo's own wildly successful Game Boy Advance, which debuted in June. Many stores reported selling out of the hardware system in a matter of hours.

"Some 700,000 NINTENDO GAMECUBE hardware systems moved to retail locations in time for our launch, our largest first day supply ever," says Peter Main, executive vice president sales and marketing at Nintendo of America. "But right now it appears that none of them may be left by this weekend."

Nintendo of America has committed to shipping a total of 1.1 million hardware systems to retailers by Christmas.

The top-selling opening day software titles were those exclusive to Nintendo GameCube. Most popular (in order) were Nintendo's self-published Luigi's Mansion, followed by Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader from LucasArts Entertainment Company, and Nintendo's Wave Race: Blue Storm. Reorders are already underway to replenish all retail software supplies.

"NINTENDO GAMECUBE is the most exciting new entrant in the video game sector," says Joseph Spiegel of Spinner Asset Management. "Its lineup of exclusive software titles is fun and unique, and with a price tag $100 less than its competitors NINTENDO GAMECUBE is particularly attractive in the current economy. Consumers, whether 28 years old or the parents of an eight-year-old, can buy a system and two great games for less than the price of the competitions' hardware."
