Dipped is excellent. Full beam is ok, but due to the way it works not fantastic.

Overall, good kit that lights up the road far better than a conventional bulb could.

Lets face it 99% of UK driving will be on dipped anyway and you could always convert the fogs to spots for improved beam performance.

I have just received and fitted my third set of these HID conversion kits. For the money, they are absolutely brilliant.
I had a small problem with third kit but Genuine Auto responded to my emails very quickly and rectified the problem very efficiently.

Anybody that still hasn't purchased these and may be thinking about it, I can say that the product is very good and the customer service from Genuine Auto is excellent.

No, single element, with a solenoid to move the beam higher.

Hi,

I ordered a set of H1 6000k last Thursday evening about 10pm and they arrived yesterday - great service!!

I went through the link and paid via PayPal - total came to $224 which converts to £119. I wasn't given the option to enter a promo code or alter the cost.

So, I emailed Chris at Genuine and asked for confirmation because, as far as I was aware the cost was £83 + £22 shipping (?).

That was immediately after I paid on Thursday. Now, after 3 more emails I still haven't had any confirmation or contact - not so great service!!!

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Nige

Sorted.

Chris at Genuine has just sent me a refund for the difference.

All I've gotta do now is fit 'em!!!

Has anyone posted an idiot's guide yet....I'm gonna need it as I'm not exactly hot on electrics etc!!

Default Help with fitting!

Help!

Have just spent the day fitting my HID kit from Genuine Auto, but have a problem. It is fitted and working, but will not switch between high and low beam, although the dash light (blue one) comes on when I switch between the two - just no difference on actual lights!

My car is a MY98 UK Turbo.

Have checked connections and cannot seem to find a fault.

Thanks

Justin

I note that the eBay store has been closed and SN member "Genuine" is now banned. I assume the party is over? What went wrong?

Forgive my noobyness, but does this kit just include main beam HIDs or does it include dipped headlights for normal road driving too?
Also, are they E marked and will a scooby fitted with one pass it's MOT?

There was a lot of trouble on the Rover Coupe Owners Club forum about HIDs on cars that weren't fitted with them as OEM... So I'm just wondering

Mine was MOT'd in February and passed with no problems. It was never mentioned mine had HID's on and apparently when measure the light level/reading was spot on.

Mine has the Prodrive projector headlamp units as standard though which makes the HID's look geniune.

Got these on my Phase 1 with no problems at all. Fitted first time and never had to adjust.

I installed them ages ago when the group buy first started and have no problems whatsoever.

My dad even had the same set for his Toyota Emina people carrier with plastic lenses and he also has had no problems and a massive improvment over original.
