i changed to large injectors before my car was being mapped by him he noticed there was a lumpynesss from my car sussed it allmost straight away 1 of the injector oil seals was nipped sorted and car was fine he noted fuel pressure was not good on my fsi fuel reg told me to change to a sx reg and come back for final mapping he is so good which means he is popular i cant get back to him until 19th nov. still all comes to those who wait

have to say that stretch of road that has been mentioned is mad especially travelling at 130 and you start to aquaplane in the rain i did not even notice bob told me i corrected the steering to busy looking at the boost gauge

I wouldn't say I was embarressed as most of the required mods were nowt to do with me, well, apart from buying a cheap fuel reg which wasn't a safe mod lol.

Bob reminds me of my engine makers...works in clean, organised way, not happy with "bodge jobs" from others...

Just to let you guys know there's more development soon from the main man Bob...

I've spent the winter (well, bloody freezing nights in garage) fitting AVC_r, she's now up and running and ready for Bob to do his magic...in gear boost control here we come.

Will let you know the results...

Oh, further driving has shown EGT's of 880 ish with full chat, most of time never above that, even with 1.6+ bar!

Sure was, the grub screw adjusting nut has a poor thread tolerance in the housing and you can hear air pressure leaking...had to pvc tape the thread and it sorting - it was a surprise how much pressure was being lost as that was allowing the piston to creep open at almost no boost.

She was running 440/420 on RR with only 1.4 bar boost (Pat's map) and now she's running 1.6/1.65 bar, figures are from Bob's delta dash but must be about right as she goes like....

I'll update more when Bob sets up my AVC-r in early April.

Oh ref the "ride in the car" the first 3 people I took out in her, 2 out of 3 said "wow, that's enough..." brown stain experiences and the 3rd was my ex-biker m8 who (like me) has no fear of speed...lol

Think they'll be a long list again when she's back on the road and Bob has done his magic with the AVC-r...

The story continues...more good news...

Well, after fitting the AVC-r and Bob's setup, he found my new actuator was weak to say the least, the solenoid was working its **** off and boost was still dropping off...(the final confirmation was when I removed it as you could pull the actuator open without any effort), Mark at Lateral did a top job of replacing it (thanks Mark ) and I was once again pottering down to Swindon for another run on the "test" track.

Although I put a topic in the other day confirming this, I cant find it now so here goes again...
I was amazed to hear that Bob wanted to put more fuel in with the now 1 bar "crack" open actuator (actual 1.2 bar job), so we did a few runs with more fuel being added...Boost was set at 1.65 bar, although she went mental on first run (over 2 bar) as the solenoid duty was very high. After that Bob set about with duty settings and boy did she fly...It was like having another 50 bhp on tap! The power figures were in the 485 bhp mark (to be confirmed) as the boost no longer drops off at 6,000 like a stone anymore....

Bob's also helped with more advice on my EGT sensor as the readings have started to go all over the place - its a damp circuit board so I will go about sealing it up...Nice one again Bob (cheque in post for a couple of beers!) He's also spotted my fuel pressure pump is a little weak and could do with a better item - a job for next year!

Oh forgot to add, took my bird out in it after trip back from Bob and she instantly screamed in my ear...ouch! soon as I booted her...Boy does she fly.

Also, Bob, how do we get hold of those magic BR Dev sticky jobs as I'd like to advertise she's been done by a professional?

Mark, thanks again chap...ref the other half...she almost got ejected from the car....at warp speed!

Rich, cams are tricky subject...I like my cams but would prefer bit more lower down, say pull from 2000 not 2500...but I've not really lost much as the power comes in so blasted quick from 2500 and even changing at 3800 or 4000 means constant very strong pull in every gear. If had choice again though I'd go for juns 260 ish profile not 285. I'm still worried about MOTs.

Ref Pump, Bob says Bosch and thats what I'll do when dosh allows and DIY's forgotten.

PS What's spec now? Glad to help you out chap even if it is expensive lol. I've learned the hard way on some of my projects but its all been fun, well mostly.

Tony,

try here: motorbike Stickers & bike graphics by bikestickers.co.uk car logos

They will custom make anything you want. I've had some BRD stickers done and they cost a few quid delivered..

If you can email them a .jpg with dimensions/colour etc, they'll give you a price.

I'll try and get some pics of mine up..
