Both my cleaners are Polish and they are 100% trustworthy, efficeint - and one of them is !

I asked the owner of the agency about their staff when sourcing the workers and they said there was not a single UK applicant when they recruited their last lot of staff at over the minimum wage. They were all Polish.

My last Bulgarian cleaner had a Msc in Biology, spoke perfect English but couldn't get any other job but cleaning/waitressing, etc.

If the net had been up and runing in the late 40/50ss this thread would have been about the Windrush and how 'all the blacks' were taking our jobs, or the in the 70s how all the 'Asians' were doing the same. It all evens out.

I have had only 1 dealing with a Polish person through my job as copper in C London in the last 2.5 years - not bad considering 90% of them come to London. So they're either great criminals, or as I suspect, they mainly knuckle down to working.

I had loads of people in for interview for our last position, most of the English were there just to get an application form to prove they were looking for work!!!!!!!!!

None came back for second interview. That is for a warehouse job paying £15000?????? they get to much benefit money. *****.

in my mind the real problem isnt the migration of cheap, albeit very good, Polish workers.
The massive kick in the baws will come when they decide that this country doesnt provide what they need anymore and decide to migrate away.

Then we will be left with a nation of unemployable layabouts happily milking the state for every penny they can, tons of (by all of you lots descriptions) low skilled jobs to be filled paying low wages.

We cant all be special, rocket scientists, astronauts or brain surgeons.
Perish the thought but little Johnny's lot might well be to sweep the streets for minimum wage or collect cinema tickets handing out ice creams.

The problem only stems from New Labour's policy of removing the word Failure from the OED

must admit, i am planning on taking on another person in the next few months and the hardworking polish people seam a far better option.

i know of a valeting company that i used to work for 10 years ago, and from what i am told by mates who work at the local dealerships, the poles are in, and they are in with force and doing a cracking job

Used to be able to earn over £200 extra on a weekend in the run up to Christmas, now we have been told that we are not required at all this year as they have about half of Poland's population working in our factory
They even replaced the 4 quality controllers they laid off as they said they were no longer needed With Polish workers.

Couldn't agree more. Seems to be all the upper class twits(e.g Blowdog) on here who spout how great this influx is ONLY because they are getting richer giving a pole 10p an hour. Wait till they get replaced by a Romanian Gypo and see their ticker go up 50 beats a minute to protect their fancy lifestyle. You can come and wash my car Blowdog for 50p if you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty lol!
