4)Believe it or not, for most people who buy them, big SUV's are, simply, more fun to drive and live with 90% of the time.

5)Rabid is a stereotypical tosser (judging by the car's he has had)
I drove the 4.8 for over 500 miles and a weekend and found it lackluster in the extreme. Amusing thrust for such a large car but really a one trick pony.

I find it hard to imagine how a big SUV is 'fun' but I enjoy driving so I can imagine that if you're an A>B non-motor enthusiast who knows **** all about cars then yes they could be fun.

A stereotypical tosser? Maybe.

3. X's arent even that expensive so what has money got to do with, dont see threads of people saying that 911's are pointless or RS6's.

4. Theyre probably scared ****less driving day to day as theyre incompetent and need a big brash SUV to feel safe, and because it serves the purpose of a ***** extension. X5 drivers are *****.

5. Your a feckin tosser.

6. You dont give a toss? So why are you getting all huffed up because I called the X5 pointless, and carried on posting 3 pages later?

7. I dont give a **** if you want to buy a X5. I just love ripping into people who come up with a load of bullshgit as to why they brought them. If theyre honest and say, I got it for the image I can live with that, I know plenty of people that do, and why do you think young drug dealers and gangsters love the X5? Its not because of driver excitement you ****.

7 (again? you cant count can you, ****in dimwitt) Asslicking him because hes defending your manhood? (X5)
Oohh..someone's getting irritable

If there's a dimwitt posting in this thread I suspect it will be blindingly clear to most who that dimwitt is

So, your point is now that a 5 series has more space. Ah. So does a citroen picasso. Several people have put to you why they would chose an X5 over a "regular" saloon. Image hasn't featured once. What part of that does your chicken nugget for a brain not understand?

Just because you know plenty of people that have X5's for image doesn't mean everyone does you **** In fact, they're probably your mates aren't they? ...That says it all

In my recent history I've owned an Impreza Turbo, a 3dr Rav4, a Citroen C2 and now a 1 series. Image is the last thing on my mind, believe me...

And I'm most certainly not getting huffed up. What part of "It is, however, entertaining to watch them try and put together any sort of conclusive argument " was even remotely unclear

Stop lying to yourself man. Everyone here knows that most people buy a X5 for the image, as otherwise they would have went with VW's SUV you ****in ****.

God, its true, you really are that thick....

And, for the record (and I generally hate doing this) the word is "gone" as in "they would have gone with" not "went" as you posted.

I actually like the VW SUV's. Much better looking than the Cayenne and significantly cheaper too. Starting to look a bit dated though, and the one I test drove wasn't anywhere near as nice to drive as the X5. Also felt bigger on the road, dealers are all useless tossers and the residuals are not as good, however if the V10 wasn't obscenely expensive it would probably get my vote for the engine alone.

I tell a lie, the ***** are getting the Disco as well, was waiting in standing traffic to turn right, indicating when one ploughed down the outside on the wrong side of the road just as a girl in a Yaris was coming out.

So the **** nearly caused an accident judy to get a 30 second advantage, sums up the kind of people that gravitate towards big Suv's, not all but a higher percentage of w4nkers.

2.7 tonnes of Disco vs Yaris, hmm, wonder what would of happened had she ulled out.

He had his business advertised on the back, 'Neutrax music', if I drove like that I wouldnt advertise.

I'll take a cup of coffee to go with that slice of banality.

Do you live on a new build estate by any chance? I'm sure it's a very nice one.

That's nice, it's good to have one thing in your life that isn't a cliche.

Maybe he should ask you what car he should buy next ? As your choice would be based on what exactly?

Remind me again why a 5 series is better than a X5. Handling ? Speed ? Space?

If you need space, buy a Volvo estate.
If you need speed, buy a Audi RS Avant.
If you need Handling, buy anything other than a 5 series.

If you want a X5, go buy one. It's your choice.

Many users never require the 4 wheel drive of the X5 therefore a vehicle made by the same company based on the same platform which costs less, offers the same space, steers better, accelerates better, brakes better, provides better fuel economy/range is IMO a better buy.

The 5 offers exceptionally good handling in it's sector, the best in fact and far better than some sports cars I've driven (I don't own one either).

As you say if you want an X5 go buy one, it's your choice. The fact you'll be labelled as a wannabe lower class **** is just something you'll have to live with. Personally if I wanted an X5 I wouldn't give a toss what people thought. I have the idea though that many of them are bought as 'status symbols' by people who have no idea that the only status it confers is as a d1ckhead.

I don't think so. I mean I can easily afford any car in the X5 range and I have to admit I tend to think 'estatehouse/harvester/leisure suit wife/******* when I see the typical X5 driver.

Usually I'm correct.

Here's an interesting statistic.

The X5 is over 20 cm shorter than a 5 series touring.

That answers the parking space/road space issue
