Got my new VPOWER card through the door the other day and went to my local shell station and put £20 of this Vpower in... chap behind counter said its was 99ron and selling for the same price as optimax (97p here)

I have a UK 99 Turbo which is standard apart from decat centre and Prodrive back box, this new fuel seems to have killed my car.. no power at all.. it seems to have improved tonight slightly but there seems to be flat spots all over the place.. yesterday after filling up i thought my clutch was slipping or something the lack of power was that noticable :-(

strange... and i dont want to go to BP as im getting loads of nice points on the Shell scheme...

Spooky. I have a UK 00 Turbo which is standard apart from a centre de-cat and H&S back box. When I first filled up with V-Power I was wondering what the hell I'd put in because the car's grunt seemed to disappear. It's since improved and am now on a second tank of V-Power. All is well again, but it does make you wonder...

Jonts.

Default V Power

In Austalia they have launched Optimax extreme which is 100 Ron but is not suitable for Subaru's because of the ethanol content.

See thread below for the details:

https://www.scoobynet.com/shell-v-po....html?t=539867

Could this explain some of the problems you are having if V-power contains the same ingredients?

The My99/00 turbos, wrx's and MY01 wrx's onwards are exempt from the list of cars not being able to handle ethanol E5 or E10. Actually it is only the STI's that are on the list of no no.

The STi's are actually listed as not to use E5 or E10, and Tesco's 99 is an E5 (5% ethanol) here...

I can't think why that should be, certainly one or two users in the US have been using E85 in Scoobs, albeit with different fuel pumps as far as I recall.
