It was lightweight in as much as it was made out of aluminium, like all GC8 WRXs. People regularly make the mistake of thinking that their cars was 'aluminium wings' but theres no such thing. Just ****-poor quality Subaru steel ones!

I know one thing carbon fibre is not as light as i thought! seemed to have cleared up a few points this morning any way.

A good pre-preg carbon fibre bonnet should weight half of what the alloy one weighed (perhaps 6kg as opposed to 11kg)

I thought Carbon wasn't as heat resistant as ally, it wouldn't suprise me if it had a lot of heat protection on the carbon bonnet. GC8 is it true WRX's have ally boots ? I don't have a magnet lol.

I think its just a 'cheap and cheerfull one', looks nice but weight wise we have paid for it!
