all internals are standard
boost is about 1.4 and a bit iirc
im tempted with the methonal but not for power just to keep things nice and cool as these days the car never "goes to the shops" if you know what i mean - to be honest its had the hardest 4 months of its life since the new turbo went on.... roll on another set of tires
so I guess you are aiming for 450 ish bhp

not really not, just a touch over 400 (anywhere between 390 and 425 would be good although the turbo should be capable of more)
My issue is that i dont want to run high boost on the 2.5, which is why i asked why boost yours was running, especially through standard UK heads (which is what i have...), i dont want to run anymore that 1.4 ideally...(its running 1.5 peak at the moment but on a diddy turbo.
what about your exhaust headers? are they ported? tubular?
mine are ported but i think they will be a limitation.....so am trying to source some tubular.

im running the RCM manifold ... lovely peice of kit, I went for cheap copies first time round and had them blow so decided to spend some money this time round and do them properly
im sure your the same as me keep buying things just to replace 1 or 2 years down the line, im not doing it again .... he says
Im sure Bob will know what boost you will be running already ... and with a bit of practice Im sure you will quickly learn how to change head gaskets
come on Neil show me the way, you won't be happy untill you hit 450

yeah bob does know, and i also know that he doesnt really want to take it above 1.5 either which is absolutely fine by me...
i think this turbo is going to be a big shove in the back by 4k rpm so will be interesting to see....just hope that it can provide what i need, it wa a complete bargain at the price so a small risk has been taken.
show you the way??? haha not likely :P
besides, its not all about power, but the way thats its used....im busy upgrading the suspension as we speak to eliminate that horrid bodyroll from the previous time attack round and in time for TOTB

Power? Don't know yet, will wait to intercooler, headers sorted first

Hi
I've been a bit low profile for quite a bit since baby Dom was born .......not had much time to mess around with the scooby since !!
All I've done with the car since RCMS sorted it in March 2005 is put petrol in it ....LOL. It did pass it's MOT with a full decat I look forward to owning the car in 2007, until then it belongs to Nat West Bank.
Had a bit of a shock last week when the Defi Oil Pressure guage started to read ZERO !!
OK I was just getting rid of the deposits from the Tar Ox 12 pots by braking quite hard ........a bit nerve racking to see the oil pressure drop to zero with the beeping sound from the controller. EEEK !!
I looked at the oil level for the first time in 15 months and it was no where near the dipstick !! It took near on 2.5 litres to get it up to where it should be !!
Anyway........I'm allowed to play with the car again as the wifey has been away to see "Take That" an Robbie Williams in September
I thought I'd go for water injection to reduce Det as Bob Rawle has always described my car as "sparkly" and the Advance Multiplier is always low
Somewhere along the way I thought I'd stick in some methanol
I bought the Spec C tank and Aquamist kit some time so planned for Olly to fit the kit in September which is about a three month wait
At the same time I thougt I'd have a better clutch fitted (my OEM one is slipping), a lightened flywheel and pulleys and fitting some Eibach Pro Street Coilovers
Still on the OEM clutch and internals....cross fingers
Cheers
Shaun

I thought I'd stick with the 2 litre !!
from 1989 to 2002 I had a Mk 1 MR2 which I loved .......(had to sell it last month ) which had a free revving 1.6 engine in a pretty light bodyshell Brilliant !! a minature Ferrari !!!
Maybe I should have bought a Classic STi RA ...LOL

I have since added a VF35 & a Walbro and let Andy F work his magic again, Results is 305bhp and 271 ft lbs .... I am still on the standard injectors and IC.
Missing the quick spool of the TD04 but loving the longer rev range that the VF35 brings

I remember you saying you were disappointed with your previous map due to the slow response of the turbo. Have you changed any of your mods or just going to a different mapper?
