Subaru comes 1st!!!!! Time Attack - FINAL at Donnington 30th September!
I'm sure the rian will come!
We had rain at theShelsley Walsh hillclimb testerday and my little Sti is right there on the pace.
It will level all the cars and help the ones easy to drive!
When Kev wakes up with the rest and it all gets going :
GOOD LUCK TO THE SCOOBY 'LOT'
Go get the bloody EVO's!
Graham!

What a crap day..... time wise.
Not sure what was up (apart from me not really wanting to be there after only having 3.5hrs sleep), but I was actually 4secs slower this time around than when I was in Round 2 at Silverstone.
Who said practice makes perfect!!!
Scoobs mixed it up well...... some on the grass
and some in the gravel traps
!
Was a good day otherwise though, as driver and machine got home in one piece.
Regards,
Shaun.

Had a great time there... lots of stunning cars and some really good driving from all involved!
The only car I recognised was Neil's and he did really well considering the power of some of the other cars
Shaun were you in the white JDM with Scooby Net decals?
Loads of Scoobys - loved it!!!
Bring on the finals!

RC's EVO was the one with the exhaust exit infront of the front wheel? That was a ****-quick EVO!
Altho, Norris was fast in that green and black beast!
Loved it!

My tracking is properly buggered now because on my "off" in the very first session.....the exhaust wrap on my downpipe is shredded because of it too!! just VERY glad there was no further damage!!!!

Neil,
Nope.... no problems at all mate.
I just wasnt with it at all today tbh and wasnt in the right mood. I couldnt even be arsed to set the suspension up or put the 888's on for the dry timed run.
Not a good day for me...... I need to get more sleep the night before next time.

Shaun.

From: Api 500+bhp MD321T @91dB Probably SN's longest owner of an Impreza Turbo
Apart from traipsing back and forth from the stands on the far side of the track to get food and see the competitor's cars(Silverstone could of done better with the positioning of the spectators), I saw Neilo going well and few other Scoobys, Litchfield/ Powerstation's Impreza dump its oil down the pit straight and watched in utter amazement on how fast those Evos went especially the green and black one. Kept missing Zen performance car running. I never knew there were so many blue and grey impreza in this country, glad mine is green
It was a bit of a poor ending with no Impreza in the top ten, but I guess this is racing and everybody has a poor day or two.

Shaun, i know what you mean mate, i was outside my folks house at 4.30 packing the car up because i couldnt sleep....(no need to be up at that time as they live 15 miles from silverstone). Im absolutely dead to the world now, dont see me staying up much past 9.30 at this rate!

that was a fun day
one day, just one day, i'l have a trouble free day
first session wet, only got 4 laps in so not much to write home about, not worth pushing so just got a feel for the track (first time at Silverstone) 2nd session was dry so could get on it a bit more, get 3-4 laps in and just about to work out my braking points and i get water pissing out onto my windscreen from the header tank overflow so decide to come in to get it looked at to be on the safe side, get the all clear and off out again, one lap later and i get a black flag
apparently i noe have fuel pissing out of my car
turns out the breather system for the race tank is overflowing but we run out of time to fix it in the session, the one lap i did manage to get at some speed was a 1.09, i know the car & i can go faster than that! during the break we get everything fixed and ready to go (thanks to all who helped out
) so it's all down to one lap now, no pressure
onto the flying lap and get through copse the best i've managed all day, into right hander at becketts and i get the power on earlier than i've managed previously and get a huge 4 wheel drift on but manage to catch it nicely (makes a change
) get through the luffield complex and i know it's going be loads quicker than anything i've managed so far, just woodcote to tackle and were home, go for 4th and it won't go in, try 3 or 4 times and it's getting stiffer and stiffer after every attempt
i'm losing momentum, go for 5th and manage to ram it in, floor it and im out of the power band, no boost and i coast over the line
*insert every expletive under the sun*
time, 1.08.5! **** that would of been fast, easily lost 1-2 seconds at least, not a winning pace but im happy with what we achieved in so little time, just need to work on the handling a bit, curtis from powerstation gave us a setting to start off with and it seemed to work well, just need to exit the corners a bit quicker (and straighter), next time...

Well, the adrenaline was brown and runny after my spin at Copse in the first session. That car does not like it when it's as slick as a butt. Mid-engined and short wheelbase isn't exactly the best combo. It was an eleventy-million degree spin and it marooned me in the middle of the circuit. Car took several seconds to restart...

Rest of that session was spent showing the D1 boys how to do things properly. I've never learnt so much about car control! Terminal understeer followed by snap oversteer. Muchos correction and swearing. At one point I was going around Luffied 50% on the rumble strip and 50% on the grass...

Second session was much better, and seeing the results I was only four seconds behind Shaun at that point. I was determined to "catch him".

However, once dry and in the Time Attack proper the speed differentials made themselves apparent and I finished dead last with 1:22.9.

Not bad for an optimistic 120bhp, titchy-brakes, and a ginga driver...!

Would like to have met more of you folk, but was busy in my own little world.
