Subaru comes 1st!!!!! Time Attack - FINAL at Donnington 30th September!
Hi Folks,
Just a quick roundup of what is happening with this years Time Attack series and entrants!
Following on from last years successful GT Battle, this year see's several rounds following the same format as last years event. Giving the oppourtunity for the top tuners / drivers to compete against each other in a battle to find the quickest lapping car. This year also gives "normal" people (like you and me) a chance to compete in the new Club Challenge class. Allowing us the benefit of taking part without the rules and reg's associated with the pro class. Both the Pro and Club Challenge classes have a plethora of car marques competing.
Round 1 took place at Rockingham on May 28th, giving PowerStation / Litchfield (MY06 Type 25 Spec C Race Car) a class win (4wd pro class) and 2nd overall, beating some monster EVO's, GTiR's etc etc. Stuart Andrew (MY06 Type 20 Spec C Road Car) entered the club challenge class and came 4th.
It already looks like the Subaru marque has already made others stand-up and take notice at this event following round 1.
Round 2 is fast approaching and will be staged at Silverstone on Saturday 17th June 2006.
From what I am aware the following Subaru's are competing in the pro class at this round:
Pro Class
PowerStation / Litchfield
ScoobyClinic - Mikee Singh
Zen Performance - Paul Blamire
Club Challenge
ScoobyNet (yep.... i'm driving this time lol)
Shaun Harvey
Neil Wrenn
Terry Buckel
(any others please let me know and I will add to the list)
I wish everyone the best of luck that is taking part.
If you wish to find out more information about Time Attack, please see www.timeattack.co.uk.
Spectators are allowed at all rounds and it would be great to see a large turn out of Subaru supporters and I am sure us that are competing would appreciate it!
Obviously for people that wish to compete please see details on the website given. Spectators looking to go on mass and by local group (discounts on entry can be arranged directly with organisers prior to each round), facilities have been laid out for group areas to setup. Again please see mentioned website for contact details.
Regards,
Shaun.

Gents,
Just a note to say, that as a spectator, I really enjoyed the first round and I'm looking forward to the second.
Good Luck to all - and I'll try and get round to coming down to the pits to say hello !

LOL - I love the banter
At the end of the day I don't care if I don't beat you all - it's the taking part that counts Anyway - it's Shaun Harvey that we will all have to watch out for - dark horse he is
But if i don't win then I will take it personally - so watch out

You've also got a heavy weight that I could only dream about - although maybe I could achieve it with 10 bags of cement in the car

pls note those weights are all educated guesses on the standard cars....as no doubt most of these will be stripped out a fair bit, so real power to weight will actually be higher.

It is all banter at the end of the day.
Facts and figures dont mean nothing about a car.
I'm doing this to get track time in the car and build up my confidence levels. I expect to come last out of you lot since I have only ever done Dono twice before.
Remember this is an VERY quick circuit..... so it mostly comes down to the size of your hairy things, regarding how late you can brake and how much speed down the straights you can get.
For a virgin like me, I'm doing this for experience and confidence building.
Regards,
Shaun.

basically unless they put some chicanes in down the straights, we are most likely going to get blitzed by all the other cars....as raw bhp will pull them through on the straights.
Its not exactly fair 700bhp (which a couple of those skylines are) vs < 400bhp...its a no brainer.
Oh and likewise Shaun, i can count the number of times ive been on track on one hand.....id like to change that as quickly as possible. Like you say, it will be down to who has the most confidence in their brakes!

Aaahhh - let's all have a big hug
I just can't wait for it - I love trackdays, but you can't beat real competition and all the banter that goes with it. I loved my hillclimbing days (sound like a veteran don't I - but I only did 2) but had to give them up as they enforced the rules requiring rollcages.
But you just can't beat that feeling when you get out of your car and check your time and then wait for your fellow competitors times to come in.
Have you both got in-car camera mounts? Will be good to get our laps hosted on here

I did, but what's the score with having to pay an extra £20 for the timing equipment - should that not have been sorted with our entry fees already??
Did this happen last year aswell Neil?

I haven't bothered reading up the Ts&Cs, but if it's not in there then they shouldn't be stipulating that we need to pay another £20 now.....
