Or................perhaps the thread-starter is the car thief and is planning to nick a scoob advertised on here.............................................. !

About turn people, withdraw all comments, close curtains, lock doors and get EVEN MORE PARANOID.

Si - moved pc to a nearby window and left car running so can hear it's there.

Gutted for you.

Have you thought about what could of happened - take them out on a test drive, out in the sticks, one pulls out a knife and you have a couple of options !!! Maybe a lucky escape.

It's a pity we all have to learn the hard way.

What sort of precautions do we have to take when we sell our Scoobs ?

Meet in a neutrally safe place.
Take some "back-up".
Always ask for photographic I.D.
Make sure you are meeting one person.

Any others.

Hope they are found and get their just desserts.

Regards,
Graeme.

Anyway all i know is that the main bloke has a geordie accent and i have the mobile number he called from. Police have been round but don't seem to enthusiastic. Totally devastasted as its the first time i have had a car stolen and especially in such an unusal way and i worked hard to pay for it, ally my familly are as stunned as me.

If anyone wants to make me feel better and leave a voicemail for this lowlife thief then the number is 07956 940009

Watch out people they'res some dodgy people out there.

sounds way TOO iffy!!! i think this ScoobytR wants us to annoy this guy for some personal reasons. may be wrong tho
I was a bit dubious aswell TBH. Even more so that he's not been back on since his first post to have a check.

Could be wrong and I apologise to the bloke if it's genuine.

I'm sorry, but don't you ALWAYS take the keys if you leave the vehicle?

I even check its locked when i go to pay for fuel...

Seems a bit weird that the seller on ebay has now made his feedback private and removed his listing!!

Yes i do mostly but as it was close to my house on the drive i thought it was ok, they seemed decent people and the engine wasn't on just the key in the ignition. I ran after them but my entrance is open and easy to pull out and i had no chance. As some have said, big mistake and i have learned my lesson already. I remember thinking that it looked like a sale i guess that took over.

I have the task of contacting the insurance company tomorrow what with it being Sunday and a depressing day i left it. Surely i will be ok with it being on my drive? I mean i only nipped into the kitchen to get the log book etc and my house doors were still open. The police did see they likely planned it for a while so if it wasn't mine it would be another, they also said its a common thing like this with some even taken on the road.

Thanks to all the people message me and looks like i have something to pass on. It was only a winge really i never thought of searching for the number.

well i just tried the no. (hid mine though) and it rings then goes to an answer phone where the owner tells you to leave the message and he is a geordie, you can also hear what sounds like kids in the background so it might be a genuine phone or it could just be nicked still i suppose.

hi mate,we all want do our little bit for ya, so why dont you put up some decription and at least a redg plate???

I personaly am starting to think, unless details of the missing car are given, that its just a stupid dispute and nothing to do with a stolen car,we're all quite genuine people here who are trying to help you out and yet nothing to help us,help you.........

Still no details for the "stolen" car!

Why not? Then people could have a look out for it, any graphics or marks etc incase plates have been changed? Any pics?

All seems a bit vague for me to believe at the mo.

Vicki

p.s. I am from Essex tho so a little dim, lol

If it was my car I would have the numberplate on here and every other forum I could think of pretty quickly along with a complete description of the people that took it.

gutted for you.

regarding the golf tdi on ebay this guy may be selling, see if you can get the vrm(reg) off one of the photos. i am sure somebody can do a bit of wizardry and enhance the photo a little.
do as much digging as you can asap prior to handing documentation etc to the cops as you will do far more than them in a lot less time.

Unusual post this. I cannot believe anyone could have been so silly/naive as to leave their ignition keys in the lock of the car while 2 total strangers had a look/see.

I'm also amazed at the level of sympathetic posts on here. If this had been a BMW driver sharing his gullibility with us he would have been absolutely slated, castrated, hung, drawn, quartered and neutered (just in case the castration didn't work the first time around).

I'm surprised the poster has not given more details sufficient for peeps on here to keep a look out (we know that keeping an eye out has worked in the past). I'm curious about the mobile no; reg plate might get your car back, mobile no won't.

If you are genuine then this is a hard lesson learnt and you won't be doing that again; if you are not then please share your motives for this post with us or do your *** jockeying elsewhere.
