The classic was taking it easy and ignoring it and the ford turbo sounded like he was trashing it to the red line!!! I wish these chavs was behind me!!! I would have shown them what a real turbo can do!!!

Alex (RST Cabrio in first vid) is a friend of mine, BUT please don't associate the video involving MY RST (second video racing Evo on runway) with this.

My race with the Evo was an impromtu event at Bruntingthorpe and, yes, I got slaughtered off the line. Gary's Evo runs MoTeC M800Pro, 1000cc RC Injectors, Full Stainless Turbo-back exhaust, Induction kit, ALS, Hyper-Twin clutch and 1.7 bar of boost, so around 350bhp. Knowing that my car was built for top speed (it does just under 170mph and still runs the original, although modified, 1600cc engine) and I have a reputation of not being able to launch (anyone that knows me will verify that), I was just pleased at reeling the Evo in over that distance and by such a significant margin. Someone will no doubt report that after the bend that followed, the Evo regained its lead, as it rightly should have.

Carry on!!

Is it just me or is the first vid very different to the second one? Different circumstances, different mentality and different car.

Fair play to the second I say

Are you running a diesel gearbox, just wondering how you have achieved the gearing to allow such a high top end?

Reworked gearbox and ratio's. Also a raised rev limit. The car has been developed with a focus on top speed due to the fact that I can't launch for toffee, which is blatantly obvious from the vid. 3rd gear onwards though, it is an absolute weapon, even in my hands!!

rb5037... I'm sure I read somewhere that the standard Series 2 RS Turbo is geared to do 148mph. Although it may well be about to embark on its second trip around the speedo (140+), they arent the most accurate speedos around!!

The commentary on that clip is crap.. the car itself sounds awesome IMO, chatter is way better than some stick on dump valve that anyone can fit to a car with a turbo.

Cheers,
Grant
