Looking at the sdk stuff, it actually looks quite accessable. Just need some ideas now. Somehow I don't really feel like coding yet another version of pong

Welcome to the darkside!
Serously... Good luck.
PocketDivxEncoder is proving v.useful.
I can now get a 90 minute film down to about 120MB - still with good sound and video. A bucket load of films, therefore, on my 2GB 'films' card for my holiday...
MAME working well with around 600 roms, as well as a couple of PC-Engine emus (just to get Galaga 88 working!) and DrMD with Sonic everything plus loads of other classics!
One 2GB card of games for my holiday - with, god knows, 1000+ games on it of various sorts... and one 2GB card of films with about 15 feature films on it.
This thing is very useful..... and how good is Vektar?

Are you sure you haven't got dodgy roms, and are you using the megadrive or master system emulation?
I've got a load of megadrive roms, and one or two of them crash the emulator, but most of them work ok. Didn't have to do anything special to get it working other than making sure the directory structure was laid out the same way that it mentions in the readme. Been playing Gods, Xenon2, and Sonic for most of the evening

I did unzip mine, so perhaps the problem. Also, the emulator might need the sdl libraries installed for it to work. I installed on mine before I tried this particular emulator, so I've no idea if it works without them...
My floor is finished!!!
Now, just need my ISP to pull their finger out and give me a decent net connection and I can get downloading the useful bits for mine. It's not even been turned on yet
It'll have to wait until tomorrow now, I'm well and truly knackered from too much DIY

Which sdl libraries did you download and install?
That's what you get by not reading the maual first.

The manual looks like the one with the CD I got with the gp2x.
Oh. Got a reply about the batteries situation, this is the reply i received:
Gamepark do not now include the 2 batteries with the MK2 GP2X - I have
asked for our website to be updated with regard to this.
Kind regards
Jacquelyn
I installed DrMD without the SDL libraries and it worked perfectly with every ROM I could lay my hands on (downloaded a PS2 emu DVD with god knows how many roms in it - seems like every one!).
However, mine works fine with ZIPped roms.... just slap 'em in /roms/megadrive and away you go.
Odd...
I've had to unzip my PC-Engine roms in order to get them to work, but all others are zipped....

Thing is I'm using Normal Alkaline batteries to power up the gp2x and I'm thinking there maybe not enough power going through. Off to Argos in a bit to get a power supply and a Nimh 15 minute rapid charger with 2300 Ni-mh batteries.

Well went to argos armed with my reservation numbers. The battery charger reserve numbers weren't being recognised on their computers
So ended up coming home with just an AC-DC adapter. Still got the same issue with the ROMS. Now going to remove them and try one at a time to see what the deal is. Oh and I have also installed the sdl libs. Still the same issue.

Up-to now I have only tried Project-X. Does the floppy disc counter not do anything?
Also the emulator doesn't support zipped files.

I'm just getting a black screen, and the GP2X seems to hang. I'm using a 1.3 rom, (which works fine with WinUAE). I'll give it another go. I may have set something up incorrectly...

Yep Got that one. It's a 4 disk game.
Well I just loaded that one up without any issue. Started off without overclocking. And then when the game started ended up overclocking to 250Mhz to get a decent speed out of it. Had to use the K/B and Joystick mode to play it.

Nope still no joy here. It just goes to a black screen when I try and start any game.
Quick question for you. What size is your kick.rom file? I'm wondering if the one supplied with Amiga Forever is incompatible...

Hmm, mine is only 257kb so I'm guessing that's where the problem lies. Seems that the Cloanto dumps don't work with this emulator, and I haven't got any others to try it with...
