Nothing wrong with a quick Nova (or Corsa), but you do fight against the torque steer and all that weight up front with the 2litre and turbo lumps.
As adrenaline-filled suicide boxes, I can see the appeal.....
You mean like mine ?

I was speaking to a guy yesterday who is building a 400bhp Nova. He sold his NA valver and bought a standard Nova and a calibra turbo engine. He is getting some 400BHP turbo in from Brazil. He is hoping to get 300/350bhp and 100 shot of nos

Turbo from a guy called Matheus? He does some silly cheap stuff, like full turbo kits (turbo, manifolds, pistons) for £800 odd iirc. Supposed to be excellent as well...

I am not sure who the turbo was from. He just said he'd been looking at turbos for a while and then decided to get one. Spoke to someone in Brazil hopeing to get it ASAP they guy told him about 28 days turn-around. He ordered it anyway.

I quite like the P1 style front splitter. The car now has a set of 18" white alloys on it and looks much nicer.

The intercooler is a bit more dirty too so kind of blends in more

i dont think basing how a corsa 2lt turbo will handle on driving your grans 1.2merit is a good car to base your opinion on

Glad you're saying we shouldn't look out on the straights

What was your last feeble effort? 12.6 or something?

the only way you'll get a FWD vauxhall to handle is by stiffening the shell hugely and turreting the rear, something like this:

That's the job, exactly what I'm after. Same colour as mine aswell - but I still have a silly scoop....
TBH, 170bhp is plenty in a Nova... Or is that just me?

thats my corsa on 1/4 against a prezza turbo wagon. corsa also handles extremely well and itsnt too bad for grip. lsd helped a great deal.

i wont lie, id prefer something 4x4, but as a toy, cant beat it. very good fun

if you can get over the image theres a car there with really good performance that would put a bigger smile on your face than just about any other car out there. the handling isnt the best. but i think alot of going round corners fast comes down to the driver more than the car .. ive had quite alot of 'races' and (yes subarus included ) the only cars that i have ever been beaten round corners is a civic lol and a mk kit car . yes it doesnt feel as planted on a bend lke a subaru etc but if you use the force lol there not too bad . any1 that changes to a bigger engine and doesnt uprate the brakes and suspention wants shooting anyway . yes they are utter rubbish and if your not thinking bloody dangerous when its wet lol in the dry there amazing fun . mine needs a lsd like yesterday as its running about 280bhp and out of slow corners i have to hog the road abit to stop ppl with 4x4s geting past untill i have the power down .. as for them not being safe .. safe imo meens boring .. also you can get 'chicks' in a corsa.. just that there normally about 15 years old .. but if thats your thing lol !

as i say above, its a cool toy that corsa, can be a nightmare to drive everyday, something 4x4 is obviously better. but, it does accelerate like nothing ele ive driven and isnt too bad at handling really.

good laugh of a car

Why do you own a scooby? for personal preference mate. And for the people who don't understand why guys spend £10,000+ on their corsa/nova, I don't see what's so hard to fathom really. I think its done out of love and pride of you're motor. Not everyone would rather buy an impreza given the chance Don't get me wrong I love impreza's, my dads got a nice bugeye wrx (yes a nice bugeye ) but I can't see why people are so narrow minded sometimes as to write something off just because its not the same as they have

Agreed, it is all about personal choice

I came out of a 300bhp Astra GSI (mk3) into my scooby.

The Impreza still isn't as fast from a rolling start or top end speed (Astra had the 6 speed box), but for off-the-line acceleration and going round twisties it is in a different league.

Loved the Astra though, and would love another one as a toy
