white - you got a pic of your car with the 18" Pff7's on ? Good to demonsrate these things at home before purchase
Yep we're all in the same boat mate!

Still waiting for my STI to be delivered mate but already I'm spending money on bits and bobs for it!!

HERE is a pic someone provided with of an STI on PFF7's.

Ta for that -they look like they'll do the job and in the absence of Anthracite, and the only other option being the hideously expensive Forged Alloys, they're the ones for me - have 4 (last 4 I believe !) ordered .... now for the tyres, and the car crucially, and might be a happy bear by Sunday lunchtime depending on Subaru delivery / prodrive bits timescales.

How long do people wait for delivery ?
I might be under 2 weeks for Crystal Grey, but I hear horror stories about WR Blue of 4 months .... IIRC the WR Blue I'm trading in took a coule of months back in '03 - is it even harder now ?

Lovely ... you got the PD springs on there sir ? Looks lower than the showroom car.
See you managed the rare WR Blue colour too ...

Great comment on the PS2's. Good to know.

Yep, PD springs. That picture was taken a month or so ago and the springs have since 'settled' a bit more.... only a few mm but it's definately lower than the pic now.

I ordered the car way back in Jan for 1st March delivery, both WRX and STi were avaliable in that time scale in WR blue...

Thought it must be the springs. Made the same difference to my current car, and I'm hoping it improves the steering feel a bit, with the combination of springs and 18" PS2's.
Good to know what my car is about to look like apart from paint colour of course

Any comment re handling to make ? Im getting slightly off topichere, but wheels are still part of it

The springs are definately worth it, firms it up nicely without being like my coilovers on my old classics. If your going for the PFF7s then the PD springs are a must for me, complement them nicely

Revolution claim they can supply the Corsa Assymetrico for anyone interested. TBH, I'm a bit sceptical about getting them as if t's true that Pirelli have indeed stopping making them that pretty much puts you up **** creek if you have a puncture.

Pilot Sport 2's now for me

Default Corsa's and PS2's availability

Well - on the Corsa question got an answer from Pirelli - the Corsa Asimmetrico is a current tyre and no plans to stop making it, left or right
So looks like the stories we're getting are unfounded re not being made anymore.
PS. Getting a few comments from dealers as to why I'm interested in a 'track tyre'. Pirelli were saying there are road or track versions. I have used a version of Corsa's myself before on track and I don't think they'd last long on the road loking at them - they also look rubbish in wet weather
So I'm trying to find out exactly which ones are meant for a normal road cars like ours so you get more than a few thousand miles out of them.
If anyone knows what's what here I'd be delighted to know.

Also - in case anyone finds PS2 EL's hard to get hold of - I've checked with Michelin - they're still current too

Not many to be had of either but at least if you do get some there'll be replacements.

Default Q for Mike/anyone else who's used them re 235/40 Corsa's

I have to say that we felt the T1-R, whilst having some good features, didn't suit the STi particularly well for UK roads.

Mike
Mike, anyone,

Can you comment on the version of Corsa that they've used ? I've had Corsa's as track tyres for a while on 17" subaru wheels - and I just want to know if the tyre I'd get woud be a road version of that. I'm going by the tread on the tyres i had which was fairly minimal and the compound very soft
I've checked with Pirelli and they have advised there are 91Y and 95Y(EL) tyres. I'm just scared i end up with a track tyre at 175 each if i do go for them.

Mike - if you've got the time to read this - is it a track type tyre that was tested, or was it a road tyre with normal tread patterns that will be as good wet as dry and so on ? and was it 91Y or 95Y ?
