Sorry for thread revival but anyone recomend somone in Hampshire for gearbox rebuilds at a sensible price?
Mine is a bit crunchy and whiney (120K on original box) and has a selection problem with 1st & Reverse but is still drivable and going in to have the gearbox & diff oil changed to Redline shock proof Smurf blood stuff at vast expence but in the long run it will probaly need the sincromesh rebuilt.

I was under the impresion it will help it last a bit longer?
Would it make sence to use that fancy stuff once it's rebuilt?
Mind you cheched the box oil via dipstick and it's still clean and was only changed 6K miles ago and i dont drive it hard. So did wonder if the oil would make any difference?

Yes, by all means put good oil in a fresh box, it will pay huge dividends.
Good Luck, David
