Let's face it though our Vecs are no match for your motors on the twisty or launching, but once we're moving, move over. LMAO

My mate has just had his 3.0V6 CDTi rolling roaded and got 220bhp & 310lbft.
So you drive a 1.9 cdti vectra and your mate has a 3L v6 with 1.1 more than you and he only managed to get an extra 20bhp and 4lb of torque out of it???

If I was your mate I would scrap the 3L and get the 1.9 it is bound to be cheaper on insurance, drink less and go exactly the same.

I read in EVO magazine about Opel developing the 2.2 Vectra Diesel. The test drivers said it was most ammusing on the AutoBahn baiting 911 drivers and then pulling away from them.

Plus, not really relevent but worth a mention (have said it before too) the new Audi Le Mans car is a TDI.

Opel are ahead of the game.. Look at the Speedster concept car.. Its less than a 1.3 CDTi, it does 0-60 in under 6 seconds and tops out at nearly 140mph..

Morning Guys,

Ive just been speaking to the driver/owner of the 3.0 Black Vectra as i has a feeling he was/is a customer of ours.

The map hes currently running is pushing 210bhp and 349lbft and certainly transforms what already is a great car.

Anyway im sure Jonny will be along at some point, as he tells me that he used to own an Imprezza and was a regular on here..

Anyway happy motoring and watch out for those Vectra's expecially around Notts as there are a couple of V6's kicking about, as well as an unmarked Police Vectra Estate

Andrew

The STi PPP and Vectra V6 CDTi both push out about approx 400Nm (approx298lbft for the old skoolerz) but the Vectras torque kicks in at 1900rpm as opposed to the STi @ 4000rpm. At motorway cruising speed the STi is only gonna be about 2500rpm to 3000rpm but the Vectra will be right in the sweet spot so without the STi dropping down a cog or two, the Vectra will win.

think that makes sense.

The whole point of having a six speed close ratio gearbox...... As was said earlier, it's down to the driver, right gear, right speed Turbo rattley jobbie dissapears from your rear view mirror! lol

I've had an Audi a4 1.9tdi that was chipped to 150 BHP and 260lbft and it was a quick car, But it drank diesel like a train, and yes you can pull away from most cars but they seem to catch up when you reach the top of the rev range and it went POP on the A14....SO...

I'll stick with my scooby for speed and going around corners.... and my focus tdi can just get me to work and back every day....

The higher the speeds, the less likely either party would be likely to pull away from the other.

Right time for the facts !!!!

I did not flash you

The little ***** did the usual, came up behind at a great speed with his dustbin sized fogs on full, at the 1st chance he had he shot into the inside trying to undertake – failed.

½ mile on and there was a big gap on the inside, so rather than pull over I stayed in the outside lane – tut tut

He came down the inside again an as he was level I floored it, being an Auto kickdown to the max.

Needless to say with 210+ bhp and lots of torque (not been on RR yet but running HARRY, you Vectra guys know what we are talking about ) the Scooby could not keep up.

Max speed reached – 100 max maybe less, my Origin B2 has a speed warning set at 90 mph and it was only a couple of seconds after that I slowed down.

Scooby was a couple of cars behind in traffic and I turned off the next junction home before he even got close again.

I think one of your mates sums it up "****" after all that is the only way to sum up your driving, before you say, yes I was in the wrong to stay in the outside lane the second time but if you had waited more than 2 seconds from when i passed the lorry before you started to undertake I would had pulled over.

All I can say is I a please you have the guts to post on here how slow your car is and what a crap driver you are.

BTW I am a ex Scooby driver anlong with may other high performance cars, I have gone down the Vectra root for the following

1. Cheap running costs - 30,000 mile service interval
2. Excellent MPG high 40's on a run and high 30's round town - current average 41mpg - my blobeye scooby wrx - 22mpg
3. low insurance

and on top of it all 3 litres of V6 power - running well over 210BHP and a lot more tourqe than a scooby

I have got a lot of time for most people and I am sure many mebers on this site will join me in saying what a pair of prats you are, racing along in clear daylight, fogs blazing, undertaking - is this the new bread of scooby owners????

I hope not, I met some great guys during my ownership, did some great things like the Derby City Hospital Christamas run.

next time you try and undertake just think, what happens if I changed lane as you flew down the inside?
