Im a van driver we have 2 vans and 2 cars but 1 driveway, i park my car and my van on my side of the road over my driveway, the other van is on the driveway as its bigger and the other car is on the opposite side of the road on my neighbours front which they dont have a problem with as they are old ladies and look at it as security coz it makes them look like they have visitors, as i run a small business we have cars coming every day at different times, my next door neighbour said its getting like a car park but as her son runs a taxi firm she cant say anything! non of my other neighbours have a problem with the amount of cars or vans that come and go as its added security. I just dont see the point in vandilising someone elses property without asking nicely first to either stop or remove their car from their front but i can understand that you are doing neither and are parking it along side a pavement i have to do it all the time i sometimes have to abandon my van in the middle of the road if i cant find a parking space at the end of the day we pay our road tax like everyone else it doesnt give anyone the right to abuse someone elses property. i'd get in touch with the police about it and catch the ****er who did it and make sure they pay for a new respray.
im done now lol
im done now lol

Park this in their street for a few weeks, even key the doors yourself so theres no gain in that.

Right, well have reported to the police. Doubt they'll be able to do much, though, as whoever is doing it will be hard to catch. Sadly don't have time to sit all day waiting for the perp to appear..immensely satisfying though it would be.
Either way, the lovely new go-faster stripe will not disappear all by itself. Have a bit of a conundrum, so would appreciate your views. Here's what I could do...
1. Leave it as its not too bad. But..the damaged paintwork might lead to corrosion which is not covered under warranty. Realistically, what's the risk of this happening?
2. Get it repaired by an official Subaru dealer. Expensive, but will solve problem (assuming they do a decent job) and will be under warranty
3. Get it repaired by someone else decent. OK, so not "approved", but what are the chances of something going wrong a) whilst I have the car and b) whilst the bodywork is under warranty.
Answers on a postcard please...

It is anoying but depends upon the circumstances. When I lived in a terraced house, I took it as part of the deal.
I do object now to our neighbours visitors who insist on parking in front of our house (and even on the lawn) rather than the house they are visiting, but the only way to deal with it, is to make your feelings known in a friendly, non-aggressive way.
Bet your's does'nt have armed police

At my last house with a one car driveway I had three cars, The scoob a 'train station car' and the wifes car.
We actually used our garage and driveway for parking and parked the Scoob in the garage, the wifes car on the drive and the Station car out the front. (exactly as stated on my insurance policy).
In the road all the residents recognised where people parked at night and 'additional householder' cars that did not fit on drive/out front normally got parked over/down the road which was adjacent to the side of back gardens.
The only problem you had were visitors, who you would not expect to know the (unwritten but followed by all) rules. They just parked in the nearest space that was not outside their friends (obviously not wanting to upset THEM). It was a RARE occurrences (save a few *****), but you lived with it and I usually just parked accross the front of my drive, and moved if they had gone before I went to bed.
I did have one woman who was car sharing with a neighbour and not moving their car before I got home in the evening. A polite word sorted that and she started parking on their drive during the day.
I now live in a cul-de-sac where one side of the 'keyhole' is shared by 4 houses/communual drive and I have the whole other side with a double 4 car driveway.
I have come home early a few times to find a driving school car (neighbour learning) accross the font of my drive. The first two times I squezzed past and onto my drive at a weird angle.
The third time I had thought of parking behind him, but I knocked on his window and asked him politely not do it again.
I don't know if it was the polite request, my imposing appearance or the fact that the neighbours see me coming home with a gym bag or wearing a Gi most evenings, but...Guess what - he now parks down the road, where there are no houses.
The point I am making is that people live by unwritten rules as well as the law in order to co-exist without friction. It covers any anti-social behaviour, whether intended or ignorant.
However, there is a right way to resolve these things, damaging a car without an explanation is not the first choice. It is the sort of thing you do when someone starts telling you its their 'right' or 'f**k' you.
Generally these small minded people have probably done it on purpose and have been bought up thinking the world owes them. They normally wear fake Burberry.

true, but it only takes one person with a key, to not share this view and then damage is done.

I have no choice but to drive to the station as public transport is just not good enough. £20 is not a huge amount on a weekly basis, but when you think its £80 per month and 50% of my rail fare then its a lot and I resent the fact that I seemingly now have no choice but to pay it.
BTW the "friendly notice" told me to not park on the corner (which I wasn't). Hence moving the car well down the road.
