The larger induction kit is 80mm, the smaller same as the stock maf tube, the 80mm kit cannot be installed before mapping and has to be done at the time, the maf scaling is so different the car will hardly idle untill its reflashed to the revised scaling. On a MY99-00 car its different as the maf tube is 80mm in any case.

A FMIC will work even with a TD04 turbo given its remapped to suit. The STi top mount will never be as good as an average FMIC setup.

The STi's will always yield more than a WRX due to cam's and intake differences (tumble valves) which restrict air flow. That said the WRX is no slouch with the right mods.

David

Bite the bullet and get the genuine article from Olly at RCMS

Get the kit fitted and the MAF rescaled on the day the car is mapped

sorted !!

Midlife..... who did just that

Rich

Sorry to hijack the thread ......... my MY02 Scooby with a TD05 18G and mods threw a P0310 CEL today which is a Misfire on cylinder 1

I've had lots of CEL's relating to the EGT, De-cat, Cam position sensor but this is a new one on me !!

Flakey Bugeye ECU........LOL

have you come across this one before ??

not had that one on the random cel generator, i ve heard of a simular problem something to do with a dodgy neutral switch , or it could even be a mis fire, you changed plugs recently?

Hi Rich

LOL at the Bugeye ECU "random CEL Generator" !!

Thanks for that I'll have the neutral position switch changed

I think the real problem might be a misfire........ LOL

Since baby Dom was born a year ago I have done nothing mechanically to the car apart from pour in the Optimax and drive it ....eeekk !!

I think it might be one of the plugs going "off" !!

Testament to RCMS and Bob Rawle to sort out and map a car so well that after a year it's only a problem with the plugs

Cheers

Shaun
