Question

Only bits to get really are the turbo and injectors... plus a few fueling and breather mods I've been told...
The rest is here... what would people recommend injector wise??? See a few people using 740's... anyone have any issues at idle with these... when I spoke to Teg Sport last year regarding a 2.5, they were on about 620's??? But, that was Teg Sport...
Wheres the best place to get them from???

Talk to Mark at Lateral or the guy who will map it.

As Graham has said, have a chat with your chosen mapper and see what they advise.

Cool

Been chatting with Andy F... swaying towards a Garrett hybrid turbo...( good for 450bhp ) and 740 injectors... although I think my engine will be capable of more... this seems to be a safe route, and should make it very nice to drive... hope the drivetrain will hold together, although I know at some stage 4th and 5th gear will need looking at in the gearbox...lol
Also, going for the Garrett hybrid means I can keep my downpipe and up-pipe, so should keep the costs down for now...
Yesterday, engine bay has had a good clean up with abit of polish... also managed to paint the front end up, behind the bumper... Also, the whole car has had 2 coats of polish over the weekend, so its looking spotless...
As i'm on nights this week, gonna try get the brakes painted today sometime if the weather is any good... as I can't be arsed to find a match for the Gold the Brembo's are up front... and the rears are black... Gonna go red all round... and fit new white Brembo stickers... hmmmm!
Will try getting some more pic's up later...

Just a few more pic's fore now... done a few little bits... heads have been sent away for abit of work... so I'm stuck with the little odds and sods to do... one of them was to clean up under the bonnet, and also paint up behind the bumper... dunno why really... just wanted to mint it up alittle, also tidy up the front pannel abit where minnor adjustment was needed to fit the FMIC...

Also while I was at it, decided to give the car another good polish/ wax... and removed the WRX stickers from the lower rear quater panels... looks much better IMHO...

From this:

To this:

Also started to paint the brakes up... gone for a nice bright red, just got the fronts to do over the weekend and stick the new Brembo stickers on...

Thats about it for the minute... got a few things to do over the weekend... but its getting there slowly... It's all going well at Ron's ( AXIS ) too ... So shouldn't be to long now...

Looks superb! Will be identical to mine except for my te37's.

You decided on your final spec yet?

Jonjo... love your car... looks awesome... you got any new pic's? will be sticking with a 3/4 size plate... like on MY00 UK Turbo... drove round here for 2 years, never got pulled once...

Playsatan... take it you was on about my final spec...? will be a Garrett hybrid turbo that bolts up in the standard
position, the 3' inlet pipe, and the new V port 800cc flow matched injectors... Andy F's recommendation... probabley gonna do away with the MAF too.. the turbo should be good for 450bhp... fingers crossed, should be reliable... Can always go for more at a later date just by upgrading the turbo!

ScoobySlammed,

You need some stickers for the rear callipers. I think I have 2 left over from when I did mine. If you want them let me know.

A few more bits done this weekend... one being painting the Front brakes up... how good do these look now!!!

The white Brembo stickers finish them off a treat... rear Subaru ones next to finish it off...

Also started painting the underneath and inside the arches in black Hammerite smooth finish... really looking clean now, just abit more to do before I put pic's up...

Also had a go with Meguiars clay bar and gold class wax... only managed one side due to the poo weather we've had all weekend...
There we go, just a quick update... more soon...

Been nice and sunny here all week... weekend comes... and its chucking it down... WHY???
Have in the week after work managed to clay bar the car... looks awesome now... also my rear Subaru caliper stickers have turned up, and are now fitted... Big thanks to Welloilbeefhooked... ta mate...
I really need to get the inner wing cut out so I have no clearance problems with the FMIC pipework... Fingers crossed it brightens up later...

Hows yours then mate... drive well? You happy with it? ......
Ron said pistons are still in the works. The crank/rods/bearings and other small things are all set for install, just waiting on the pistons.
Shouldn't be too much longer though. CP usually only take 3-4 weeks total to make the pistons and get the coatings on.
Long as its done right I ain't bothered...

You're correct to say you want it done right, not right now.

Can't say if I'm pleased or not yet as I'm still at the running in stage. I was warned before hand that engines with forged internal can sound a bit rattly when cold but it sounds as sweet as. It drives fine but as you can imaging it's not what I'd call perfect without the correct map. It'll do till the miles are on it.
