yes the clerk of the course will make that decision on the day for us should it be pouring down! the rwyb last year wasnt our event, and we dont have any control or input over what went off that day.

it was never ours to start with :-)
but yes a decision would be made on the day if it was bad, the handling could probably run in any conditions to be fair on there.

Grip levels are more than good enough in the wet for anything but the most powerful cars like Andy's at Elvington, it's great fun on the handling circuit when it rains.
The only problem i see is the fact we are limited to just 5 laps and it's a wet/dry day, it would be good if that can be modified to reflect the number of entries and maybe have a free for all for the last 2 hours?
Also i think it would work much better if people are allowed two flying laps per car so the queuing isnt as offputting for the time you have to give it a run. It would also help people with a TMIC do a run without the concern of heat soaking after a long queue.

I agree John, being able to do a couple of laps in a row would be useful, if only from a memory perspective!
Also with only 60 cars entered it would be nice to have a couple more than 5 goes at the handleing circuit

and im pretty sure not all entrants will bother doing the handling either....so more time for everyone else

there will be over 70 cars judging by the entries still coming in and enquiries today, so we'll keep it to 5 laps each and see how the day goes, obviously if every competitor has done 5 runs by 2pm we wont leave the cct empty!
bob's- i was making the distinction that the rwyb last yr wasnt organised by us or run by us,it was a different event totally, and the clerk of the course always decides whether to run or not as its his call anyway. on that day maybe it should have been pulled in hindsight, again not my decision to make then or now. the airfield was designed to have good drainage and run off for landings in all weathers i'd imagine.

If it rains no-one will go out on track as the time will be slower too, so we could end up with a lot of nothing to watch/do rather than pounding round doing what scoobies do best, go flat out in the (wet) twisties.
Is it really an issue having to limit peoples runs? I must have done 3 times that many at TOTB1 with no queue jumping.

if this happens maybe we should have an untimed morning warmup, this might at least get some cars on track for spectators to watch

So will I shaun, watch TOTB1 video and i'm virtually the only idiot doing just that.
But i wont if i'll lose some of my timed runs in the process at this event, i want to win it, not just entertain and come away with a crap set of times.
