I mean this in the nicest way, but that made me laugh.
My dad has an 02 reg 1.9dci Laguna estate that he was allowed to keep by his company as part of his redundancy package.
It's been a nightmare from the day he got it. Gearbox, turbo, clutch (x2) and intercooler (x2) have all been replaced. And it's not as if it's had a hard life or been ragged. It's been wafting up and down motorways at 80mph in 6th (about 2,500rpm!) and my dad hardly ever uses full throttle since he had to start paying for his own fuel.
It creaks, rattles and whistles from everywhere too. Worse than mine which is 3 years older. The interior has fallen to bits and now my (mechanic) brother refuses to work on it - reckons he should get rid and buy a Mondeo.
Sorry.....
Rant over....
It could just be my Dad's example was a Friday car.
I'll get me coat.

It has been reliable, comfy and nothing needing doing to it really, the air con could do with re gassing, there was a clip that needed replacing on the zorst for the MOT as it had broken or come loose and was blowing but that was it and we've had it well over a year now and all been fine with it, it's a W reg sport, not sure of engine, but it's slow
Really comfy though and practical with the boot size, I will actually miss it TBH, now we're one seat less than needed
Before I moved here wit was going from St Helens to Llandudno a few times a week!

Oh and afternoon you barmpots

I have been wondering, what with so many of you having to sell up
Will you all still be able to go to all the SMACS meets, or are they restricted to Scoobs?
I guess the runs will be no good unless you have some decent performance behind you in whatever you choose to drive from now on
I do think everyone should keep in touch regardless of scooby ownership or not seeing as you're all friends etc (or seem to be from the things I have read etc)
What will everyone be driving then, as a sensible and economical alternative to the scoob?

Hey Donna
Think some people are just finding the running costs to much to justify TBH.
I know ill have another more powerful scoob or maybe an evo in a few years, but im trying to get a few houses under my belt, so with any luck it sets me up nicely for the future, when i can get another 1 and not have to worry all the time about it costing loads to run
